If it ends up in the 75 area I think that would be great. Like Iceman said, it's gonna be hard for it to end up in the 90's.

Yeah I hear you its just I want this to not just be good but be a classic type of movie like the first one is. While maybe it can be like in the middle of 75 and 90 so like a 82-83 lol.

Yeah anything above 75/80 is good, although the average rating is more relevant than the Tomatometer.

So Jeff Goldblum is able to return for Independence Day 2 but not this?

What a bummer. :(

There's no reason for him to return in this. We don't need major members of the original cast to return. Makes no sense really for the story JW is telling. BD Wong is returning but his character makes sense. I don't wanna see others thrown in to the film just for no reason except to please some fans like yourself with nostalgia.

You guys really worry about and follow its reviews and ratings? I dunno I never follow reviews or ratings for films. If I like the film and enjoy it, that's all that matters to me haha.

Goldblum was awesome in the first film. That Dr Malcolm role was made for him. Damn really want to rewatch it all right now.

Worry? I don't worry about anything dude! :woot:

And the reason why I read the reviews is because they come out before I've seen the film and are the best indicators available at the time. If you or even someone I hate sees it before me I'll be just as interested in that review as the one by some guy on RT. And the reviews that come out after I've seen it aren't relevant.

Hey fair enough, I've just never been one for listening to others opinions in a review. I would rather just see it for myself to determine my own opinion on it. Rather than have someone else's opinion influence mine. Plus I pretty much always know ahead of time something I am going to either enjoy or dislike. :yay:

I do like the site though. Reading a bunch of reviews from familiar sources is part of the traditional fun of anticipation to me like posting on here and watching trailers. It doesn't influence my views but I have found that when I look back at older films the consensus average rating (not tomatometer) is usually not too far from my opinion. Which is what you'd expect from an average. But there are films which have been universally loved which I didn't really feel and others I loved which have been completely panned! For some though their only exposure to a film is a single review by one major publication so it can be a plus for box office if most of those are positive. (and I really want JP's box office (as long as it lives up to hopes) to be huge so we get JP films regularly)

It wouldn't make sense for characters like Malcolm and Grant to go near the park after their previous experiences. They would never do it.

I'm always interested to see what the RT rating is, but I don't let that effect my thoughts on a movie. But I find myself agreeing with the tomato meter more times than not to be honest.

I will see a movie no matter how bad the reviews are if it looks like it should be good and no matter how good a movies reviews are I am not going to see a movie if the trailer doesn't look good. There are pletty of movies that have got bad/ok reviews that I have loved such has asm2, iRobot, all the ice age movies ect and pletty of movies that have gotten good reviews that I thought where bad/ok such has iron man most overrated CBM ever by far, lego movie was crappy and boring ect. But if I like a movie I am going to hope that it gets good reviews because I want a movie to get the respect that I think it deserves. Being a fan of a movie like asm2 and not understanding how why it got the kind of so so reviews that it got is hard and makes me furstated has I think it don't get the respect that it deserves. Its be 14 years sinces Jurassic park 3 and I want the long weight to be worth it and for it to not just be consider good but to be consider a classic type of movie. Also there is normal so what of a reviews to boxoffice success kind of thing so changes are if the movie gets great reviews that it will do better at the boxoffice then if it gets so so type of reviews. There are a lot of people out there that listen to reviews to decide if they are going to go see a movie or not.

"There is no force on earth or heaven...that would get me on that island....except a paycheck." :sly: LOL

How about to save others though?

I realized what's different in Jurassic World compared to last three movies, in last three movies we had some scientist / paleontologist as the main character (as protagonist)

Now in the current installment (Jurassic World), I don't think that character played by Chris Partt is a scientist. Absence of any person representing the scientific community turns this into a generic popcorn thriller.

Owen is a scientist. He's doing behavioral research on the velociraptors.

I'd like to hear him talk about what he's doing with the raptors in a bit of depth to another character. We need Robert Muldoon back. :csad:

I'm working on my ideal JP soundtrack track list after giving TLW's score a listen.

At the moment:

Opening Titles
Dennis Steals the Embryos
The Trek
The Island Prologue
Rescuing Sarah
The Raptors Appear
Finding Camp Jurassic
Jurassic Park Gate
Journey to the Island
A Tree For My Bed
The Lost World
Malcolm's Journey

I didn't use to care much about reviews or general opinions, but with time I've come to realize their importance. It's frustrating when a movie comes out that you really love, but the general reception is mixed, and maybe the chances of getting a sequel, or something else (like a director's cut/extended cut) goes down the drain. A good example for me personally is Cloud Atlas, a movie I adored, and would put up there among my top20 favorite movies ever. According to studio people, there's an extended version at around 3 ½ - 4 hours that was apparently amazing, but given the mixed reception the movie had (some loved it, some didn't like it at all), I don't think that director's cut will ever see the light of day sadly. I would want to see it more than anything, and if the general reception would have been slightly better, we probably would have gotten it.

Overall I try not to be swayed by opinions though. If I like something, that's the most important thing. But somehow, knowing that a lot of other people felt the same way, adds a good feeling of knowing that you can't be crazy, if at least some other people feel the same. :yay:
