Jurassic World - Part 6

The professional thing to do would have been for him to contact Trevorrow and talk to him about it. Trevorrow is the one who let it in the film so it's him that Whedon shpuld have been discussing this with. Not blasting the clip on a public site. Him making a statement publicly was less about altruistic combat against sexism and more about self aggrandizement.

His issue with Empire is one of the few times I just rolled my eyes, said "Okay, Joss" and went on with my day.
That is when I knew he liked his own farts a bit too much. It doesn't even make sense. :funny:

I strongly disagree with Joss' take on 'Empire' but it's not like he hates the movie, haha. I like his work and I like him as a person, and finally he's shooting a movie that looks like a movie (Avengers 2)

It is not about hating it. It is about him needing to be the smartest person in the room. Let me tell you why Empire isn't perfect. :funny:

He can speak on that when he manages to make a film 1/10th as good as Empire. :o

It's a perfect movie. I can't think of a single flaw, really. He has an issue with the ending, and how it a 'set up' for 'Jedi'. I disagree. It's a wonderful stand alone film, and the one that set the template for that sort of sequel. A template that so many other films have tried and failed to replicate (Matrix 2, Pirates 2, etc.)

Bryce was fantastic in The Help. :oldrazz:

Eh, You will nevah hear Nolan or Snyder take shots at Marvel publicly. But Whedon has talked about DC. Lawd.

He does have a zombie like following though.

Actually there was a pretty major hooplah last fall over Snyder, somewhat misquoting Nolan, criticizing after the credit sequences as not something a "real movie" should do.

Sidenote: The reason why those 2000s middle sequels don't work is that there was a weird trend of making a successful trend and then making two sequels at the same time to make money. It led to a lot of movies that didn't tell a story.

Honestly the guy is just a windbag. I like his work for the most part but he's got an opinion on ****ing everything and his cult is one of the most obnoxious ever.

Yes and no. When you actually read his interviews, he is pretty charming and down to earth. He admitted that he probably should've had not tweeted those tweets.

Can anyone point out what was sexist about the clip? All I see are 2 boring characters.

Glad you like it Hunter cause I'm digging this pic too. Yeah that's the Gyrosphere they call it in the film. Cool stuff :yay:

Too much negativity in here recently, I haven't even seen the clip causing so much drama because the mighty Whedon flapped his chops. At any rate I want to see the Gyrosphere involved in a chase sequence. :D

I disagree with his opinion too but jeez, he has another opinion and he doesn't happen to like the idea... so what? It's nothing irrational. He just happens to be in the minority that doesn't heap praise on just one of the ideas of the OT like most people do. Perfectly fine. I appreciate him lending another perspective on it all. It's refreshing as opposed to the constant, "OMG Empire Strikes Back is the PERFECT sequel." Though that does happen to be me.

Thank you Hunter I appreciate the effort to try and get the thread back on track It seems like there will be some sort of sequence in the gyrosphere. The super bowl spot shows the herd of Dinos running around the gyro and then as we know we see a clip later of the D-Rex attacking the kids in the gyro. So my guess is they're off in the gyrosphere when the D-Rex escapes. And it makes its way into the herd and they run the kids in the gyro off course into the jungle or something where it attacks them.

Again, it doesn't affect the way I look at him.

He mentioned how he disagrees with Adam Baldwin's political stance (especially with the anti-vacinnes movement) but he's still friends with him and thinks he's a great actor. Different opinions.

A legit source was never provided for that quote.

At least Joss Whedon's The Avengers had zero loose ends, unlike The Empire Strikes Back, no similarities in the endings at all ;-)

Charisma got pregnant during Season 4 of Angel. So, Joss ruined/wrote out her character. From what Charisma has said, Joss wasn't nice about it either. It apparently really ruined their relationship. She almost didn't come back for the final season of Angel, until she read the script.

I understand that it was a surprise, and it would've ruined some of their plans. But the anger Joss had toward Charisma was the exact opposite anyone who proclaims to be a feminist should have.

I didn't know, that's really awful.

I can only recall one occasion of Snyder legitimately attacking somebody else. After Terry Giliam took a dump on Watchmen, Snyder said Gilliam's version was nuts. That was a defensive retaliation.

In contrast Whedon has gone after Watchmen, The Dark Knight, Prometheus, Empire Strikes Back, and now Jurassic World.

It wasn't aimed at you, just people who flame Whedon for God forbid, a dissenting opinion about the OT of SW. Which wasn't even an immature one. He's talking about it from a writer's standpoint. I thought it was interesting. I still don't agree but it opens up discussion, as little as it does among the rest of people with folded arms.

See, that I like. I think the best people are like that. If he were really a self righteous *******, he'd take no part in Baldwin anymore and condemn everything about him. It's more I've seen of him than a lot of people and people here even. People would rather seek division and focus on that. I suspect the one person who knows his faults more than anyone is Whedon himself. He is a writer after all.

He kind of does, though. In nearly every interview I've seen with Whedon talking about Baldwin, he condemns Baldwin for his beliefs, but ends it with "he's a nice, good guy, though".

I'm praying that this is a good sequel and stand alone film even more than ever before after the new Terminator trailer.

If the terminator franchise has hit rock bottom then fine and that's a shame but please give me a proper/worthy Jurriasic Park and Star Wars sequels this year!

Simpkins contracted for JW sequels

"Jurassic World" is about to do battle with "Iron Man" ... and the victor gets a 13-year-old kid. Ty Simkins is a hot pint-sized commodity in Hollywood. He starred alongside Robert Downey Jr. in "Iron Man 3" ... and he's also set to star in the upcoming dino flick, "Jurassic World."Ty's "Jurassic" paycheck would dino-soar him to new heights ... $200K base -- according to his contract which was filed with the court. He'll make another $125K if the flick kills. And the sequels would score him $400K minimum for #2 and double that for #3.Here's the problem .... Marvel -- which produces "Iron Man" -- has locked the kid up for a long time. It has first dibs on 3 sequels ... which could put Ty way past Bar Mitzvah age before he could do "Jurassic."We're guessing the kid is gonna be iron deficient.
