Yes, I would not argue that the writing shown in the trailers is pretty bad/simple/on-the-nose, but I think you need to reread DAs post because I think you missed his point, which was not about the quality of writing, but what he thinks the film represents. He thinks the film is geared towards creationists, and that it promotes an anti-intellectual, knowledge is wrong ideal. If you look at the trailer or have ANY knowledge of Jurassic Park, and honestly think that, then you have missed the point entirely or are looking for reasons to complain about something.
The film is clearly continuing the notion that genetic tampering and careless experimentation is wrong, but with the added problem of doing so for commercial gain, where profit is more important than responsibility or threat of consequence. Its damning the corruption of science for financial gain, not damning science itself. The fact that a few lines in the trailer (poorly) phrase this out of context doesn't change that fact.
