Jurassic World

I still just can't see it being done in any serious way. It will come off goofy and childish if they try to use tamed dinosaurs.

They are still wild animals and it says they will be muzzled. Tame =/= domesticated.

Actually, I'd love to see this movie pull a T2. The old nasty baddie (raptors) are bred domesticated like dogs are born. That doesn't mean they can't be nasty. Have one alpha female taking it upon herself to watch over a daughter of some character or something to get her back to safety when hell breaks loose. Give her a scene to go up against a pack of the nasty new raptors or something. Be all torn up but still watching over the girl as long as it can move. Then the raptor dies near the end once the girl is rescued.

We might think it's cheesy, but it could be a great new spin to get people involved again. And it's not like the raptors have to be portrayed as monsters. There is precedent for wolves to have watched over humans in real life.

Anyway, make the new raptor female a feathered type to soften her a bit, and I think the movie could be really interesting.

Seeing a real Jurassic Park theme park is reason enough for me to check this out!

I really want to like this new concept info but for some reason I'm having a really hard time with it.

I have to admit, with the tweets Trevorrow has given us, JPIV will probably be my go to for spoiler-y info, because while Star Wars Episode VII is my most anticipated film for 2015, Abrams is far too secretive a director to let too much slip out unless Disney pushes for that kind of thing, via SW.com's old Hyperspace or something. I hope Trevorrow keeps us informed as things progress.

You know... it doesn't sound half bad to me.

The concept to me is almost a reworking of the original JP 4 script, in which dino-soldiers help out a merc to take out rogue dinos. The "Terminator 2' formula.

Except, it's less over-the-top and more plausible but the concept remains the same: Good dinos helping out the good guys against bad dinos.

Yup. I just hope they handle the "allying" thing well. It's the trickiest part of the premise. The JP fully operational and thriving is really interesting to me.

It has to be..realistic enough that the 'good' dinos aren't too anthropomorphic. They must behave as animals, and can be lethal when provoked.

I don't think the dinos they use to track and fight the aggressive dinos are going to be "good". They will be like trained dogs. Controllable and obedient to perform a task. I hope they get rid of the whole monster concept and go back to these creatures being animals.

Well that was my point. I was just simplified my reasoning for liking it.

I'm still not a huge fan of the idea. I know at the end of the day you gotta have the dinos chase people but... despite the park being up and running... fully successful or not you still devolve to the original film's premise.

The controlled dinosaurs add a new element, and I don't even like that idea much.

controlled dino's only add a beginning element... it's all false control that will end up biting them all in the butts (literally).

Yeah, they're not like pets in that sense that they have loyalty or something. Though I suspect there will be that one dinosaur that actually does start to have a sense of loyalty and trust towards its human handlers and of course becomes the one that sacrifices itself for the heroes.

Actually I posted a link to one of the drafts of that script in this thread. They didn't fight rogue Dino's, they fought drug dealers. Same difference though.

The stereotypical tear-jerker emotional snag that I :whatever: whenever it happens. It's so unnecessary and cheap.

He would assume odd jobs under the name Mr. Pilkington.
