Jurassic World

Makes me wonder if that rumor of a 'RUNNING PARK' filled with guest might be true.
You know, I hope it is. With The Lost World and JP3 we’ve had people amongst abandoned ruins. It would be a nice, and surreal, change of pace, to actually see a working dinosaur theme park. And the fact it would be on the original island is exciting. Going back all these years later and finally getting it right – seeing the dream. But from there, I don’t know. I assume it all comes crumbling down again but in a different way?

I would like to see some nods to the first movie if they're going back to the original island. Maybe show like the classic Jurassic Park gate or the T-Rex destruction just outside of the fence.

Agreed. The nostalgia of seeing remains of classic locations from JP1 could very well be extremely helpful in terms of the films enjoyment factor, depending on how they handle it of course; it could either be powerful or hokey.

^ I'd like to see a mix of old and new.

It’d be interesting to see what they altered from the original design. Probably no tour cars on rail, not as much reliance on electricity – and better backup generator systems. But there will always be a gap somewhere, and life will find a way…

Old post, but sorry this destroyed me. :pal: :pal: :pal: :pal:

That could be a way to get some of the originals back. The park has been running safely for a good while, maybe a year, and they come back to take a look. As opposed to the first movie, where they’re inspecting it before the planned opening. In their minds they're not going into a warzone.

I've been told by a very reliable source that this time it wouldn't be about dinosaurs per se, but zombies dinosaurs.

I agree with DreamMaster.

I hate to say it, but the leaked premise(s) are terrible. How could the park be up and running? The first film ended with the rex demolishing the visitor's center and the raptors running free. More importantly, why? Why would someone invest billions of dollars to capture the animals, pay off the lawsuits, rebuild the park, hire new staff, and then pay insurance premiums atop of all of it?

Then, they would have to explain how they restocked the park. The facility on Sorna was destroyed, presumably with the equipment in facility on Nublar.

The more I think about the film, the more I realize how near impossible it is to create an original, viable story. Hell, a sequel to Westworld would be easier to pull off than this film.

No way that casting list is real. It reads more like a Roger Corman Jurassic Park movie with bikini girls and sex.

Don't get me wrong, I want a sequel, JP was my first theater experience, and I even love JP///, but nothing about this sounds great. They announce JP4, I get excited, they announce Trevarrow, I get excited. Park rumor comes out, I don't know what to think. Nublar gets tweeted, some excitment comes back. And then these casting sides show up and just make me go "wtf".

I do agree, JP honestly is pretty limited in the amount of stories that can be done, and damn do I want another good one. My best guess could be in relation to a deleted scene in TLW. Ludlow in the board room claims Nublar was bombed. I can only assume everything was destroyed, and in the ruins InGen or someone else, 20 years later, restarted the idea. Built a new park, began breeding the animals again. That is why Trevarrow can claim a new species of dinosaur will for sure make an appearance, and not have to mess up continuity more or whatever.

Or maybe he just went to Hawaii and was like "Hey, look where the original film was made!".

@DreamMaster: thanks for sharing. I will be reading it tonight.

That casting list sounds awful.
Well, the JP forum I frequent just debunked the casting sides. Apparently those have been floating around since the last time the film was almos tin production in 2007. So, glad to see those turne dout false.

jonathancrane, I totally want to hear your reactions to that script. As a JP film, I would have hated it, but as a weird spin-off animated series or something, I could have seen that working.

That casting list has been up since last year and it's obviously fake.

I hope this movie doesn't involve people coming to the island to rescue someone else. Ian Malcolm came to save Sarah and Dr. Grant was tricked into saving Eric.

I also hope we get more night scenes with some of the dinosaurs. The first T-Rex scene in JP was brilliant. They could hear and feel it coming. They just didn't know when it would pop out. I want something like that.

I am over that plot device as well.

I kind of like this idea. As much as I would love to see the ruin of the original park, we saw ruins in Lost World. I wouldn't mind a "flashback" montage of "how the running park came to be though".

It would just be so cliche to have the old park up and running that it would almost be a bad joke. So for the 4th time someone's going to give X ridiculous idea a shot and hope it doesn't fail...and of course it does.

I think that's going into self parody at that point. The first films was at least believable with the idealism of Hammond but after the 2nd one i can't see anyone thinking that would be a good idea without looking like a fool.
