Universal apparently isn't wasting time. They must be thrilled with Trevorrow and Connolly's new draft... and they're courting the same names (Bryce Dallas Howard, David Oyelowo) for roles in the film prior to the delay.

I think having Goldblum back would be a wonderful idea and just enough nostalgia to add in, I don't think having the whole original cast would necessarily benefit the film or the story.

It seems they want to introduce us to a lot of new possible characters

It needs more than goldblum considering lost world. Sam and Jeff however....

It's been so long since 2 and 3 that we DON'T actually need any old characters but it would be fun to see a couple older characters.

Lost World is friggin beautiful. Not quite as good as the first but it absolutely nails the darkness of the original novel.

I beg to differ... Considering 3 didnt measure favorable. I think more people want to see familiar faces than new ones

If the rumors are true of the Park being well established by the time this film takes place, I find it hard to find a decent reason for some of the preexisting characters to find their way to an easily avoidable island they have bad memories of. New characters make sense.

I actually love TLW nowhere near my love for the first but still so. I do however agree having Jeff and Sam would be great, I just don't think its a necessity to have the first films major cast back, next thing you know they'll resurrect Samuel L Jackson's corpse.

As a huge JP fan....I'm not huge on the title. But I'm so glad to finally have a release date.

With so much time having passed from JP3, which was a 2003 film, and from the events of JP, which was 1993, it pretty much is a soft reboot. People know dinosaurs exist but all of that stuff has had plenty of time to die down. Things have plateaued. Going back to the original island gives the ‘soft reboot’ vibe as well. They have my interest here.

I like TLW as well. Nostalgia has something to do with it, but I also think it’s pretty good. JP3 is the only meh one in my eyes. I’d like to see Jeff and Sam back, Jeff especially, with a bunch of new characters. As I typed here before, if the park was safely operating for some time (years even), in their minds they’re not going into a warzone.

And heh, for some reason it took me a moment to realise this title is a merger of the first two film's titles.
