Michael Caine quotes, " And we’re going to make The Joker next year."

That couldn't be the sequel title, could it?? Don't jump on me all quick now, give this some thought... he blatantly says, "...going to make The Joker..." Batman Begins was dead on focused on Batman, this one is The Joker, focused on the Joker coming into the picture, and the next one is Two-Face, hahaha... lol. I hope they are more creative than that... It has to be Batman something... or does it?

It just made me think, and I wanted to share it with you all.

But think about it. They would not name the movie "The Joker". They would not name the movie "Batman 2: The joker" either. Why would they conceal the name of the sequel anyways??

This has been discussed before. You people look way too much into this stuff. He just meant that they were doing the next Batman film, and we're going to be working on bringing The Joker to life.

do you really think that Nolan would make Batman Begins, the very first Batman film to actually focus on Batman more than the villains, then turn around and name the film after a villain!!?! Give the guy more credit than that.

Well, there is some possibility that it can be Batman: The Joker.

But I think they will choose something ala Batman II and we will know this in October or maybe even later.

Caine Confirms The Joker
Author: Jett
Saturday, July 8, 2006 - 11:47 AM, 2:59 PM CENTRAL TIME: In an interview at TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES, Sir Michael Caine confirms his return for the BEGINS sequel -- and the inclusion of The Joker:

"...there are three pictures I want to do, small parts. One [Children of Men, released September 2006] is with Alfonso Cuaron who directed Y tu Mama Tambien, I wanted to work with him and then Christopher Nolan who directed Batman is doing a smaller film called The Prestige about magicians and it’s very interesting. And we’re going to make The Joker next year."

And before anyone flips out, "The Joker" is not the name of the sequel. Thanks to "J" for the lead...

It was only a thought... and, it just gets SOO boring around here without official news.

Duality is one of the best titles out there for the Joker movie... don't save it for the third... use it now and then worry abouyt naming it for three... I know they all sound cheezy... but Batman II just doesn't do it for me... these movies are different...

Wtf is 2 then... batman II isn't fancy enough... and don't say it doesn't have to be... this isn't spiderman or superman... loook at every other trilogy with a tag line... POTC... Matrix... Terminator... star wars... Indy... list goes on and on... it's gotto be Batman something...

Wow, the logic is unbelievable.

Duality = Two Face. Period.

Agreed. Though if this next one focuses more on Bruce struggling to balance being Bruce AND Batman, "Duality" does fit.

I still like Escalation for this next one. It describes everything perfectly.

"Batman: Duality" would work well.

Other titles to consider:

"Batman: Year Two"

An adaptation of "Batman: The Long Halloween"

"Batman: Vengeance"- This could work because Joker and Two-Face will be getting their revenge on those who caused their deformities.

I gotta say, I still dig the idea of Batman: The Killing Joke. Sure, it's not based on that graphic novel, but it's a cool title and really could fit any story with the Joker in it. Of course, that depends on the size of Joker's part.

The Dark Knight

Nothing else, damnit.

Then what do you call the third movie? "The Caped Crusader"? then we call the fourth "The World's Greatest Detective", followed by "A Guy Who Dressed Up Like a Bat"?

Whatever they decide for the title to the sequel, it has to make it easier for them to name the third movie. If they go "Batman <verb>s", then they run the risk of running out of things for Batman to "do". But if they go numbers, then they can just continue doing numbers and it'll be simple. Subtitles could also work, but they shouldn't use titles taken by graphic novels. I'm sure they could come up with a nifty title that sounds as good as "The Killing Joke". If they call it The Dark Knight, then we'll be in the exact same predicament in 2 years that we are now. Go back to verbs? subtitles? numbers? or call it The Caped Crusader? It's a neat sounding title, but it just doens't work in the long run.

Batman Dual for 2nd movie and Batman: The Legend for 3rd movie
