Just got a Wii...

Nintendo makes their own GC controller and I think you should still be able to find the wired one in stores. Wavebird has strangely been discontinued which makes no sense.

Check Target, Walmart, Toys R Us, Best Buy. They should have Nintendo's GC controller. If you're interested, I could check some stores near me and pick them up for you.

Cool, thanks for the info. Do you know how it compares to the original 'cube controller though? I'll check for one today at Wal-Mart and keep it open as an option, if I can find it.

Nintendo's GC controller is the only one I've used and they are great. The only problem with them is the analog sticks wear down and get loose but that is the case with all analog sticks. Only other thing that has happened to them is the left shoulder button on one has a more springy sound but it's functioned perfectly fine.

I used Gamestop Wireless controllers and they broke fairly quickly. I have no idea why they discontinued the Wavebirds right when the Wii came out.

Those issues don't sound too bad. That will probably be what I go with if I can't find an original anywhere.
