In Superman returns although I thought it was a huge mistake to have Superman be the father of an illigitimate son.

I found somthing out last night.
I just happen to be changing channels and I noticed they were showing Superman II on T.V.So I said yeah okay I'll watch it again.

I noticed that when he speaks to the image of his mother to tell her he loves Lois.She tells him He must give up all of his powers if he would want to be with one of them he must live like one of them(Mortal).He must forsake and give up his powers.He then says okay.She questions him and asked him is he sure.You know does he want to be mortal.He says yes.He then steps into the chamber it takes all of his power away.We even see an image of Superman being left behind.Out walks Clark Kent,Mortal Clark Kent no powers Clark Kent.So if this is true how the heck does his son have all these powers that we see in Superman Returns where did he get all that Super stregnth from??!!!When Clark and Lois got together he didn't have his powers to pass over!!!!He was mortal therefore the child should be mortal.
Did anyone else notice this????

Well, that all depends on whether you subscribe to the notion of "He's freaking Superman! That means he even has Super-Ejaculation control!". If not, then I can see how you could see that as being stupid and twisted.

yes, but, you forgot about the scene later once he has his powers back, fighting Zod at the fortress of solitude, and he does that reversing the power trick, depowering Zod and gang…
Lois was there too, and there for the previously powerless baby she was carrying, was then powered (even know Clark was depowered at the time, he still would of passed on his kryptonian DNA)
Edit: of course thats assuming that its the same power soures that both gives and takes away the powers
