Justice League: Doom (Tower of Babel)

Superman was clearly holding back in all of his battles in this. Still he has some decent feats, IE: Easily lifting the Hall of Doom into orbit. Flying at FTL speeds.

Exactly people act as if he's struggling to bend steel pipes or something, he had a pretty impressive level of power if you ask me.

I "lol" whenever someone says Superman is "dumbed down" in animation, I would LOVE for Thor to be portrayed with the same level of power as Supes in animated films and tv shows.

You can lol all you want, but Superman is so much smarter in the comics. You can wish Thor being as powerful as Superman all you want, but Superman fans deserve to see Superman portrayed as smart as he is.

Superman's powers have always been inconsistent. They have never stopped changing. But his intelligence is a funny thing. I believe it's mostly due to Batman. Because Batman has no superpowers, and has already been established as an intelligent person, they have made him the brains of the outfit. And everyone has to be dumber than Batman. This is especially evident in the Justice League TV show.

Batman's intelligence has gotten to the point that it is superhuman in its own right. Though if you actually go by most comics, Superman should be much more intelligent than Batman (he literally has superhuman alien intelligence). Though Batman could be more cunning.

It was Superman acknowleding that he understands and accepts Batman's point of view, despite how everything turned out.

IF he ever did go rogue and there was no way back, he wants his friend and the one most suitable for the job to ''pull the trigger''.

Not to mention he simply may have had no more left.
I understand the conversation aspect of it.but hes batman.i Don't think he would not have any left considering he prepares for everything.even the key parts of his plans.i mean unless MM got it from batman during the mission but i didn't see anything like that so i just assumed it came from matallo

Lol don't worry I will all I'm saying is that Superman gets portrayed with a much more comic book accurate level of power than other heroes with a similar level of power.

Do you understand that?

I think this is the most powerful I've seen Superman in animation maybe except for All Star.

Do you understand that?

Oh i get what you mean, even in Comics Thor is practically reduced to Thunder and Smashing, but atleast he isn't show as a dumb Norwegian Blond Warrior, you know? :oldrazz:

Yeah sometimes but he also does alot of mind blowing **** in the comics as well, I just would like to see him treated with alot more respect in animated films and shows.

Even though it would've been smarter for Supes to use his heat vision on all of those missiles, it still was cool seeing him slug the sh** out of them. :woot:

He was quite powerful in this film, so which of these animated films do you think has the more powerful version of Superman?

Superman: Doomsday?

Superman/Batman: Apocalypse?

Superman/Batman: Public Enemies?

Justice League Frontier?

Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths?

I would rank animation Superman like this:

1. All-Star Superman

2. JL:Doom Superman

3. S/B Apocalypse Superman

4. Public Enemies Superman

5. Superman: Doomsday Superman

6. COTE Superman

7. New Frontier Superman

I would rank him like this

1. All Star Superman

2. Justice League: Doom

3. Superman/Batman: Apocalypse

4. Superman: Doomsday

5. Superman/Batman: Public Enemies

6. Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths

7. Justice League: The New Frontier

Pretty much how I had it, except I have PE Superman and Doomsday Superman switched.

The only thing I really didn't like how damn long the ending battle was. People complain about the length of these movies, but if they just cutdown on the action scenes, they could have an additional 5-10 minutes to concentrate on plot and character interaction.

Outside of that, it really was a pitch perfect Justicr League movie. There were just so many scenes that portrayed quintessential aspects of each JL character. While Crisis on Two Earth's had the better plot and story, Doom did a much better job of giving each member of the Justice League time to shine in their own way.

Even Cyborg actually seemed pretty useful to the plot, and was characterized as very likable. Which is something that's often overlooked when they include lesser known characters just to include them.

Superman: Doomsday?

Superman/Batman: Apocalypse?

Justice League Frontier?

Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths?

Superman: Doomsday? Was very powerful in this but of course he dies in the battle with Doomsday.

Superman/Batman: Apocalypse? Was pretty damned powerful in this until he faced Darkseid, it realy bugged me that Supergirl does better against Darkseid that Supes does

Superman/Batman: Public Enemies? He was really powerful in this if I remember correctly, probably the right amount of powerful tbh

Justice League Frontier? I don't remember him doing too much in this tbh. I know he gets knocked out of the main fight pretty quickly though

Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths? I can't even remember in this one, did he even have much to do? its been a while since I've watched it and I'm not a massive fan of it

Of course in All Star he's uber powerful but he's supposed to be. I think JL Doom and Superman Batman: Public Enemies he's the right amount of powerful.

Intitally after the whole scene with Bruce laying in the grave with his parents, and Manhunter being lit on fire and burning with noway of being put out, I thought this was going to be an extremely dark movie. Almost with an R rated feel.

The grave scene was extremely uncomfortable, however once Bruce broke out I felt the tone lightened up tremendously once he neutralized his plan against the JL.

So, I guess RedHood is still the darkest of these films, at least until The Killing Joke (fingers crossed)

Of course, of everything, I'd say Return of Joker is the darkest.

The flashback scene is legitimately disturbing to watch.

Pretty much how I had it, except I have PE Superman and Doomsday Superman switched.

Supes seemed all around more powerful in Superman: Doomsday than PE Superman in my opinion, he was knocking Doomsday & clone Supes through building and slamming them into huge craters.

Superman: Doomsday? Was very powerful in this but of course he dies in the battle with Doomsday.

Superman/Batman: Apocalypse? Was pretty damned powerful in this until he faced Darkseid, it realy bugged me that Supergirl does better against Darkseid that Supes does

Like I said above I think Supes was more powerful in Supes: Doomsday than Publice Enemies because of the destruction his battles and he was pretty weak in CO2E since he was being overpowered by Ultraman & didn't really have any strength feats.

I felt the movie was fairly low budget...more in lines with an episode of JLU, rather than a full fledged dvd movie.

the animation in Year One was vastly better...even though I didn't really care for Year One.

I kind of enjoyed the action in Co2E better than in JL:Doom. I think the stories are pretty much the same quality, and both didn't really meet their potential as far as the stories go.

But action-wise, it was much more fun to see the JL fight against their CS alternates in Co2E versus watching the JL fight some of their most iconic supervillains in Doom.

Just saw this. Not too bad really. Just a little disappointed that Aquaman got shafted but I can see where the writers are coming from. Still I could have seen Black Manta making an appropriate member of the LoD. Ah well never mind. Pretty cool to see Star Sapphire though.

7/10.

I'd have liked Aquaman too but from a story point of view Cyborg made sense if he had not been there they wouldn't have saved the day.

But Black Manta would have definitely given the LOD a better look they didn't really stand out for me.

I just saw this today and it was actually good but I thought it missed opportunitys to explore some things such as the shock and impact it would have on Batman to see his parents graves like that and how angry it would make him that someone would touch their graves.

Also is anyone else absolutely sick of Bane constantly been beaten by hitting the venom tube? As soon as I saw the character design for him I knew thats how he was going to go down again.

This was a solid JL movie.. I think Crisis on Two Earths was a tad better, but this was still great. Then again when it comes to DC's animated division, I really like all of them, even if some are less regarded than others lol.

I think the most interesting thing about the movie--Batman's "betrayal"--was short-changed. It would have worked better if the JL death traps had been over a lot sooner and Batman had fallen out with everyone before the final fight where they reunited. I also would have liked to see more of the JL's personal lives if they were going to go there as far as they did. I wasn't crazy about the sado-masocistic aspects of many of the death-traps either *cough*Martian Manhunter*cough*. But other than that, I liked it a lot.
