Kang the Conquerer NOT owned by Marvel

Ugh, that sucks. Kang is my favorite Avenger villain. :csad:

NO :wall: NO:wall: NO:wall:

Dammit! I was hoping to see him one day in an Avengers movie

I dread how bad Fox would screw him up in a Trank FFINO movie.

That's so weird that Fox has the rights. I always thought Kang was an Avengers villain. Maybe the rights are shared like Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch?

I'm a bit disappointed also. There is tons of potential in Kang as the next "big bad" after Thanos in the MCU.

I guess we can hope the rights will revert back at some point in the next few years or some type of deal can be worked out.

Marvel will get some character rights back or Fox can kiss that X-Men TV show goodbye.

Yeah one more reason not to support Fox's crap IMO.

I already knew about the poor Shiar though so all you can do is be grateful for all the characters that Marvel can and will actually use.

I agree. This is awful news. And it makes no sense at all. Kang is an iconic Avengers villain. The fact that he is somehow tied up with the Fantastic Four movie rights is even more reason to not support that shameless cash grab.

So another studio has Kang because Marvel sold them Kang. Interesting.

positive he might be used in Apocalypse origin, so hopefully that's a win

kind of wnted to see him Avengers but if Fantastic Four uses him interesting to sow how they would handle the character especially if Josh Trank movie is successful

Seems odd as I would definitely consider him more of an Avengers character than anything else. But oh well, life goes on.

I'm not as well versed in Avengers villains as I am with others but isn't Kang's origin story tied heavily to Fantastic Four and Apocalypse?

Without Galactus OR Kang, Marvel is in deep doo-doo.

They lack anymore threats in the same league as Thanos.

If they can't find anything else they should at least have the Masters of Evil, have it as an evil version of the Avengers filled with all the popular villains from the films.

That sucks, even though time travel stories tend to leave holes. Especially in short movie format, like DoFP showed.

That would come off as repetitive, anyway. Hopefully they can avoid building up to another big bad. I want post Infinity Wars MCU to be different.

He's a descendant of Reed Richards, first appeared in an FF book (under a different name) and became a brief figure in Apocalypse's history years after being established as a mainstream Avengers character. Besides that, he's arguably *the* Avengers villain along with Ultron. Worst case, he should technically be a grey area like Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch.

Oh well......disappointing to hear this but this is an issue they can deal with when the time comes. Don't know what Marvel's plan is beyond Infinity Wars but if they mapped things out then they know where they are going. Besides, we are talking about 2019/2020. Anything can happen between now and then. Some are getting way ahead of themselves. They need to focus on giving us a damn fine Thanos first.

Kang first appeared in Avengers as a distinct character.

He was later retconned to be the same as Rama Tut and then retconned to be Immortus and then retconned to be Nathaniel Richards. Just like Wanda and Pietro were retconned to be the Whizzer and Miss America's children and then retconned again to be Magneto and apparently are getting retconned again from what I hear. None of that really matters. The bottom line is Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are longtime Avengers. And Kang is a longtime iconic foe of the Avengers. Hell the entire Celestial Madonna saga involves Kang. If Pietro and Wanda can be in both Avengers and X-Men films it makes absolutely no sense that Kang cannot do the same. This just plain sucks.

I know Kang is related to Reed, but that is a really minor connection. For the most part, he's constantly been seen as an Avengers villain.
