Anyone seen this awesome looking animation? I think you'll agree, a live-action version of this would be just about the coolest thing ever.

Trailers here...

The trailers overseas are intresting.

The animation rocked, man they are so lucky over there. :(

When I first saw the title of the thread, I thought it was another Exorcist prequel.

BTW, Karas looks badass.

wow... that aint half bad

They had this movie on the new release shelf at several stores, I had no clue what it was. I couldn't really decipher much of the plot from that trailer, but the animation was definately nice. Maybe I'll check it out sometime.

Yeah, I've read all the reviews online I can find and most of them report the plot as being confusing.

Here is the synopsis from the official website:

"The worlds of humans and demons have overlapped since time immemorial, and a young woman named YURI and her servant, KARAS, have long maintained order and balance between the worlds. But humans have finally lost their fears of the denizens of darkness. Disgusted by human arrogance, KARAS turns his back on the laws he helped uphold for so long, taking the name EKU and leading a group of mechanized demons in an attack against the human race.

Meanwhile, a detective named KURE who works at the police division in charge of demon-related incidents opens a case involving a series of bizarre murders that look like the work of a water demon. Elsewhere, the demon NUE, who came to town to fight EKU, spots a water demon disguised as a famous warrior... and then YURI shows up with a new KARAS. This new guardian of the city is determined to stop EKU's evil ambitions, but he has a fierce fight ahead of him."

I also saw the DVD in a store yesterday, and was intrigued, but wasn't sure of exactly what it was. Turns out Karas is a six episode anime edited into two 80 minute 'moives', the first of which is on this DVD and the second to be released in september.

The movie looks cool to me.
Definitely buying the DVD.

I bought it and watched, and I'm still not really sure what the hell happened.

The dialogue's a little awkward and somewhat incomprehensible. I'm not really sure what's going on and why things are happening.

The mini-comic that came with the DVD makes a lot more sense and presented the ideas a lot better.

The animation is nice though.

Well, Jay Hernandez, Matthew Lillard, and Piper Perabo scared me away, but a friend got it and said it was decent.

Well their work isn't particularly offensive.

They actually play supporting characters.
