Michael Keaton and Michelle Monaghan are set to team for a thriller called Penthouse North, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter. Joseph Ruben is attached to direct with a script from David Loughery.

Monaghan will play a photojournalist who, following a tragedy, retreats from the world, refusing to leave her New York Penthouse. Keaton then appears as a sadistic criminal who breaks into the apartment, determined to find hidden riches.

Ruben is known for thrillers like Sleeping with the Enemy and The Good Son. Most recently, he directed 2004's The Forgotten with Julianne Moore in the lead. Loughery previously teamed with Ruben for 1995's Money Train and recently scripted Obsessed. His next screenplay, Nurse 3D is being directed by Doug Aarniokoski and will see release sometime in 2012.

Monaghan starred in this year's Source Code and will soon appear in Machine Gun Preacher. Keaton appeared last year in The Other Guys and voiced Ken in Toy Story 3, reprising the role for a recent short film that was shown before Cars 2.

I love Monaghan and Keaton is ok so this as my interest.

"Ok"? Keaton is a little bit better than OK. Especially if he's the antagonist. Not a lot of people liked Desperate Measures, but I still maintain that it's one of his best roles. He's very good at playing a psychopath.

I agree with that, I think his best role was Pacific Heights, he's just naturally creepy.

Not too sure about the director and writer attached to this, but I'm in for Micheal Keaton alone.

nice to see Keaton back. he's due for a comeback. i hope Beetlejuice 2 does in fact happen.

Wow. I may be wrong but this might be the third time Michael Keaton has played a bad guy. The first was in Extreme Measures.

Michael Keaton is probably the one actor who is universally loved by everyone, yet studios don't realize it. Literally, he should be in every movie. In my opinion, when Keaton is in a movie, it just automatically becomes better. Is it me? He's got something about him - I don't know what it is.

I agree 100%, I have YET to see a movie he was in that I did NOT like.

I loved him in The OTher Guys...such a weird role that he made work somehow..

"Don't go chasing waterfalls."
"I don't want no scrubs."

- Best parts of that movie.
