Keep or Sell

If there is a special edition, director's cut, collector's edition, etc. of a DVD you already own and you want to buy it, do you get it and keep the version you already have or do you sell that version?

It all depends. I kept my Daredevil theatrical version when I bought the Director's cut and I do the same for the Punisher Special Edition when it hits, but I just recently bought the Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 disc Ultimate Edition which is far superior to my plain copy. So I will get rid of the crappy version.

Sometimes. However, sometimes the newer special editions are directors cuts ( a trend that is more bad than good) so holding the originals may mean thats the only way to see the non-directors cuts.

Apocalypse Now (not counting newest version)
Conan the Barbarian
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.

I got some DVD's stashed away which I want to sell.
But it are mostly movies
a)everybody has already
b)**** movies no-one wants to buy.

I have a really hard time trading things in. It irks me that I'm getting less than 80% of what I paid so they can sell it for 75% more than they gave me.

Sell. I don't like having doubles. Although, If I already have the movie I probably won't even bother buying any new fancy edition. More extras and such isn't that important to me.

I normally keep them but sometimes I sell them.

I hold on to them,for nostalgia or I can travel with the old one.
If I lend the later version to family or friends,which I'll never do again I might say screw it and let them keep it and purchase the newer version if I don't already have it.
