I really loved this. It was a visual knockout and the story really surprised me. I thought this would be another sappy story on how a woman got cruelly murdered and is now a ghost, blablabla

I watched it tonight, i thought it was pretty decent! much better than what i was expecting! the ending really got me as well!

Fox Announces Mirrors DVD Release

Fox Home Entertainment is releasing Alex Aja's Mirrors (review) on DVD and Blue January 13th.

The DVD release features the theatrical R-Rated version of the film presented in widescreen format (2.40:1aspect ratio) with English 5.1 Dolby Digital Sound and Spanish/French DolbySurround with English and Spanish subtitles.

I thought this was decent. I love Aja's Haute tension and THHE remake (haven't seen Furia yet, though I have the DVD). I even digged P2. But this project never seemed interesting. The trailers didn't do it for me either, but I was gonna see this anyway because of Aja.

And the movie was exactly what I expected it to be. At some point I got bored and just wanted to skip till the end to get the answers to the questions. Aja did deliver some nice gore scenes though. I loved 'em. The score was good too. I was positively surprised by the theme. When was the last time that horror movie had theme?

I wonder how's the original South Korean movie Into the Mirror.

Sidenote: I'm really disappointed that Aja's next two movies are remakes as well. He's wasting his talent. (Though the Piranha movie is titled Piranha 3-D so it could be a third part. No? Yes?)
