Xbox Killer Instinct

N64 had Killer Instinct 2, which they called KI Gold or something.......

man......those games seem like such a long time ago.......:(
 
in KI 2, Orchid's finisher was some kind of tonfa blast or something.

I think each character only had 1 finisher in KI 2.

TJ Combo was my guy in KI 2. I think Glacius was my character in KI 1.

I have fond memories of those games.

Yea thats whats disappointed me with this new game. The roster is so damn small. Where in the hell is my Spinal/Fulgore/Riptor/TJ Combo and Cinder?

Also, i want a classic Jago outfit

but yeah.......the roster is small, especially compared to other fighting games these days.

They should have included ALL of the characters from KI and KI 2 plus 3 or 4 new characters like Sadira.

Oh, yea thats right, those are the two "mystery" characters coming in Jan right? Well thats a plus but that still leaves Cinder and TJ and Riptor etc. Maybe those guys will come as other DLC? Which is still kinda lame considering a game like Injustice released with 24 characters out the box.
 
have they indicated if they will release more characters beyond Spinal and Fulgore?

it would be nice to see Cinder and Riptor, especially, as they were the originals left out of KI 2. I guess Thunder was left out, too........
 
They've said that if this is successful, they'll do a season 2

These developers weren't fighting game saavy so I understand why they only released it with 6 characters. They wanted to release it with characters that all felt different and were balanced nicely, which they did. So its a shame they couldn't get more characters in it but at the same time I'd rather have a game with 6 balanced characters than one with 20 where only a few are good.

I could have sworn that they said they'll release a retail game with the 8 characters, all the outfits, KI classic and the story mode. So maybe once the story mode is released they'll release the retail.version. I also thought they said that they'll start rotating who the free character is so maybe that'll start soon too
 
I can see why they went with the free-to-play route for this but I think the game would have got better reviews and more hype as a full retail release with everything included. It's not got as much recognition as it deserves as a result I believe. And I was glad to get the game and all characters free but I'm going to have to buy the whole thing again just to get Killer Instinct Classic anyway, bit silly that.

Eh is that even worth it tho? Im sure KI classic is pretty dated no?
 
It's a very 90s game and plays very stiff, but it's one of those classics though. We were told via the intro that these would be the graphics we would get on the NEW ULTRA 64!

In terms of value for money it's definitely not worth it given I'll get everything else except Classic for free. But I want to play it as I never did back then and it's kind of like a part of history, as terry refers to. Making this the only way you can get it invalidates getting the rest of Killer Instinct free to me as I'll have to pay for the whole thing anyway.
 
Can't believe there's no Fatalities in this. Even if they ripped off Mortal Kombat, it was a huge part of the game. Total buzzkill for me.


Playing the Arcade version of Killer Instinct and I totally forget how fu**ing hard it was. Thing was must been a damn quarter muncher for many. I actually have more trouble trying to beat Fulgure than I do with Eyedol, lol.


Wish they included Kiler Instinct II. I liked it better than the first game. :(
 
I didn't think the fatalities were ever a huge part of KI, at least not in the way they were with MK.
 
According to the developers, No Mercies (Fatalities) , Stage Knock-Offs, are all coming in season 2.

The game has only been out for about a month, in January, Spinal is coming, and Fulgore in March with complete story mode.

Oh thats cool. Looking forward to Fulgore and Spinal. Any word on some classic outfits? Id love to have Jagos classic look.
 
Yeah, Orchid's classic KI 1 costume has already been revealed on the Microsoft Twitch Feed, along with new loads of accessories. Jago looks like is complete as well, but they haven't showed it yet.

Only a few more weeks until Spinal comes out, and we'll probably see more classic costumes then as well!

I just picked him up the other night and so far i like him. Iv never been really good with rush down type characters, but he seems a little more intuitive when it comes to combos. I have an easier time performing a full combo with ender with SabreWulf than i do with Jago.

I cant wait for Spinal and Fulgore. Gonna put in mad work with those two
