Agreed, I want a damn collector's edition disc that features KI 1&2, KI 3, bonus material and all three Killer Cuts... for $75. That's reasonable.

I'd say, as much as people are annoyed, I'd still give this game a chance. Whether you want to wait for the full package by end of 2014, or play the game as it develops, you still won't have to pay that much. I'd give it a go for free and see what you think.

Its definetly a trend. Namco just released a F2P Tekken and Tecmo is doing the same with Dead or Alive 5 this fall. Personally, Im not a fan of this. I prefer the complete fighter experience and dont like the idea of it dished out in microtransactions

Mortal Kombat was in such rough shape before Warner Bros. took over that they needed to go directly back to basics with the reboot. There was just no place for new characters in MK9.

I can agree with that. Hopefully they create some new characters for 10, as long as I get Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Jax, Cage & Sonya first.

They was fortunate enough to have three games worth of characters to work with to meet today's standard character quota.

With the Freemium model that they're implementing in the game, they really can't afford to offer clone characters. It would be like in Mortal Kombat if they sold Freddy Kruger and made him play like Striker.

Double Helix confirmed all the characters will have classic and alternate costumes in the game. They also mentioned that they will allow for customization of your own players in Online play.

Should be interesting.
