REALY?I like the band.Great Band.
But i mean...if you dont like it thats cool.

KISS is indeed a great band.....Music has its place.....so do comics

i like the idea of the KISS members being portrayed as super-heroes

It screams so-bad-it's-good, but I have limited funds that must be used for better books.

I doubt most detractors have ever actually read too many Kiss comics, because the runs at Image and Dark Horse had excellent creative teams and were as good or better than many current titles by the big two.

If I remember correctly the first Marvel magazine they had was the companies best seller of the year. Granted it was all marketing... it was printed in red ink and at the printing they had a big junket where a nurse drew the bands blood and mixed it into the ink. But it sold and got them in the Guinness Book, free press and made Marvel a lot of green.

Kiss comics are not bad they are fairly unique in their sci-fi meets Gothic horror meets mystical meets superhero take on the genre. The run they had at Dark Horse was written by Mike Baron, Scott Lobdell and Joe Casey you can really argue with that. Mel Rubi penciled the entire series and J Scott Campbell did some covers.

At Image/Spawn they ran for several years with several big names Brian Holguin/writer, Michael Golden/cover/colors, Richard Starklings/letters, Angel Medina &/pencils/covers and Kevin Conrad/inks/covers were the original creative team and all but Golden stayed throughout the entire run. Medina was replaced by Clayton Crain for the last few issues. The cover and art are really great and fit very well with their Spawn publisher.

The new comic has very good art, the artist won the London Sci-Fi Artist of the year this past year. Again it made the Guinness Book as the largest comic book ever made for production.

The Image/Dark Horse runs were about 50 issues combined and thats not bad for an indy.

Hey if I spit blood and light things on fire, I'd get arrested. KISS does it and people love them. Go figure. They are some of the worst songwriters and musicians in the industry. Make, up explosions and blood are all KISS have going for them. You can't listen to make up and blood. KISS blow

That being said, screw the comic. I won't read it.

To each his own. I grew up in the Kiss heyday but was never a fan. I think I've had two Kiss albums... I won Destroyer and Love-gun cassettes and matching posters at the Versailles, Indiana Pumpkin Festival when I was 11. But I have read quite a few of the comics and the Dark Horse and Image ones are not bad comics.

That being said the comic has nothing to do with their theatrics or musicianship. They are mutually exclusive. They don't write the story, script or do the art for the books... they hire pretty good talent to do that.

You can't listen to make-up and blood but you can listen to 80,000,000 records and 45 gold albums:cwink:

Like I said before, I doubt most detractors have ever actually read too many Kiss comics.
