So my brother is over in Korea teaching English, and he IMs me and asks, "What do you want for your birthday? I want to get you something from over here." I tell him that I don't know what's over there and to just get me something he thinks I would like. So he comes home this weekend and takes out of his bag a DVD. He says, "I don't think you can watch this here, but I thought it was funny." He hands me over a Korean copy of "Batman Returns"!
Under the title on the front is a Korean character, and the synopsis on the back is Koren, but everything else (critic quotes, chapter titles) are in English. Weird. And he was right, I couldn't watch it b/c it is the wrong region. But it's still cool to have. He said he watched part of it on his laptop DVD and it was in English and he's not sure if it even has Korean subtitles or dubbing (granted, he couldn't access the menu).
So that's the story of the most unique and fascinating present that I have ever received.
