check it out! Michigan has proposed a bill for an all new "Cancer Vaccination"!!!
it is acutally a vaccination that has been approved by the FDA which is proven to prevent certain STD's that can cause cervical cancer!!
this is so fantastic that i wanted to share it with you fellow gals and hopefully you'll ask your own doctors about it's availibility.

well actually lots of parents are against this because it sends the wrong message to young girls, such as its now okay to have sex since they're protected from HPV and Cirvical cancer. they're trying to make it mandatory for all girls to get it before 6th grade.

that may be so.
but i didn't post this thread to debate whether or not this was a good thing for young girls.
i was just trying to expose other ladies to the opportunity to possibly be treated for something that could potentially become life threatening.
i think most of the girls on here are old enough to make their own decisions. and if you have an OBGYN, it's worth talking to them about it, just to get educated.

i'm a guy, so no i dont have a OBGYN and i'm from michigan and its been a big subject in the news, and since i'm working the midnight shift, thats all i watched today, so i was just letting you know. Its not a treatment for it, its a way to prevent from getting it in the first place, and i think its a good thing. as long as they dont force it.

you do realize that you can get HPV from something as innocent as swimming in dirty water, right?
there are plenty of non sexually active women/girls out there who are affected by this diesase. and sometimes, by the time they find out they have it, they've had it for a while.
and kids get vaccines for all sorts of things that they don't understand.
what's one more that could potentially save their life?

You're going to tell them the truth. Anyone arguing against this vaccine is a ****ing ******. Fact. People were threatening the same if and AIDS vaccine were ever released, claiming that it would encourage kids to have sex. More often than not these people are fear-mongering religious *******s who want everyone to abstain from sex until marriage. Because if they aren't allowed to get any, nobody should be. It's not hard to just be honest with kids instead of feeding them a bunch of bull**** in the interest of scaring them awy from reality, because once they figure out you've lied to them they're going to be pissed.

Well... it will probably be a year or two before we have the vaccine here in Canada... then convincing OHIP or whatever provincial Health system is in place to give it out for free will be the "fun" part.
