For those who don't know, and for those who need a refresher course.

This is Lauryn Hill:

Yes, she was in Sister Act 2. She was also in the Fugees,

and had an amazing album called The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill which won 5 Grammys.

i was talking to a friend bout how great she was and i felt the urge to make a thread about it.

Chick can sing, rap, freestyle, write, whatever. No one in the game could touch her then, no one can touch her now.

I would LOVE for her to come out with a new album. I'd pre-order it faster than her lyrics on Lost One.

so reminisce with us, those of you who remember L Boogie, and for those who don't, this is what you're missing out on.

Following the success of her debut album, Hill largely dropped out of public view, in part due to her displeasure with fame and the music industry. After a four-year hiatus, she released MTV Unplugged No. 2.0, a live recording of "deeply personal songs." The live recording was performed with an acoustic guitar played by Hill.[3] Hill also participated in a short-lived Fugees reunion during the mid-2000s. Hill is the mother of five children with Rohan Marley, the fourth son of reggae musician Bob Marley.[4]

when she did the hook on the method man track a while back i was hopeful we'd get some new stuff from her. other than the song in Surf's Up, I've got no idea.

the wiki goes on to say this:
In June 2007, Sony records said though Hill has "consistently recorded over the past decade" and has what amounts to "a library of unreleased material in the vault", she had recently re-entered the studio "with the goal of making a new LP."

Well that's good news if she's planning to come out with something again...

Have to admit I've been thinking much along the same lines...

just bumping this because i went and got The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill again. wish i knew who had my copy :cmad:

I read an interview she did recently where she talked about coming back.

i really wish she would and show some of these artists out today what a real artist is.

The last time I heard her I think was when she popped up on Joss Stone's third album. It made me want to go out and buy Miseducation again. So I did. I spent a good chunk of time listening to that CD over and over again.

She's so talented, and her presence is clearly missed these days with all of the ****** artists. Come out of hiding, woman!

I was just about to mention this. The music industry needs Lauryn. Her return would be epic. Her next album is one of my most anticipated; hers along with Amy Winehouse's.

I hope she is working on new material!

If you really, REALLY want to know how talented miss Hill is go out and get her MTV UNPLUGGED Vol. that came out around 2000 and you will gain a respect for her as a musical artist like you never had Before!!!

:awesome: I'm totally taking credit for predicting this
