So, if Leech's power is that he negates all other mutant powers when they are within a certain radius of him, how did they ever find out he was a mutant? I mean, if he was born from normal parents, no one would've ever known if he had some special gift, because nothing stands out. Know what I mean? He would have to get near other mutants for his gift to work, and then he may not even know it was working if the mutants weren't trying to use their powers at the same time that they were near him, lol? And if he ever got near a mutant who was trying to use their power but couldn't, how would he know that it was because of his own mutant power, if he didn't even know he was a mutant?

Also, I was watching an xmen episode from the 90's and Leech was on it. He stole some fruit off of a fruit stand with some kind of telekinetic power. Is telekinesis one of his gifts in the comics?

A love scene? He's a child, you fool!

Maybe they noticed him because he's green....

And he had no TK powers in the comics so I dont know whats with that.

He's not green in the movie. So there is really no way to tell.

Well. We dont know what kind of life he had in the movies, so there are a million possibilites of how they found him.

Does the book say anything? It would make more sense if he was green like in the comics, to give suspicion that maybe he's a mutey.

maybe someone ratted him out
Who'd know he's a mutant? Nothing stands out, and he doesn't have any powers that manifest visually, unless he ever crossed paths with another mutant.....and then, he'd probably still not know it was him causing the other mutant's power loss.

Most possible bet:

There have been reports of mutants losing their powers in and around certain places. During the research, they discover that Leech has been around the same are that the powers have been known to disappear. Thus, the trail leads back to him. Anyway, that's my guess.

Nope, At least not in the comics.
This isn't the comics...that is why he is not green. Just throwing that out there. Calisto isn't super fast in the comics either, Wolverine isn't 6 feet...there are a lot of things you can nitpick at.

Yeah but those are all suttle changes. Alot of artist dont even draw Wolveine short anymore. And Callisto having super-speed isint that huge of a leap from her powers. But giving Leech some other powers, depending on what they are could be weird.

Callisto has enhanced reflexes and sensory perceptions. How is giving her super speed not a huge leap from her powers? Lets give her super strength as well. Leech also projected his negation field...it wasn't invisible like in the movies. Maybe if they showed that...that would give him away as a mutant.

Ah, that would be better. But, lol, he would never know what that negation field did until he crossed paths with a mutant. :D

Real name
: Unrevealed
Identity: Publicly known
Occupation: Student
Legal status: Presumably a citizen of the United States with no criminal record, still a minor
Place of birth: Presumably New York City
Marital status: Single
Known relatives: Annalee (foster mother, deceased)
Base of operations: (current) Massachusetts Academy, (former) X-Factor headquarters, New York City
Group affiliation: (current) Generation X, (former) Morlocks, X-Terminators
First appearance: X-MEN # 179

History: Little is known of the origin of the mutant known as Leech. He was presumably abandoned by human parents and discovered by the mutant known as Caliban. Caliban took the young Leech with him into the network of tunnels known as the "Alley" running beneath Manhattan which housed the mutant outcasts called Morlocks. There he lived a lonely unhappy existence until the empathetic Annalee adopted him after her own children were shot dead by the Marauder assassin called Scalphunter.

Leech experienced a short-lived happiness as the foster son of Annalee until the enigmatic figure called Mister Sinister sent the Marauders to wipe out the Morlock community. Although various super heroes opposed the Marauders during the so-called “mutant massacre”, Annalee was slain in the melee. Leech, however, was saved by his friends in Power Pack and by the members of X-Factor. X-Factor was searching for their autistic trainee, Artie Mad*****, whose appearance was similar to Leech's own.

Mad***** and Leech became fast friends and X-Factor adopted Leech and began to train him in the use of his power. For a while, Leech and Artie were enrolled at the St. Simon Boarding School, during which time they worked with six other mutants trained by X-Factor calling themselves the X-Terminators, but were kidnapped by demons during the Inferno crisis.

Recently, Leech and Artie Mad***** have been in training with the new mutant team called Generation X.

Height: 4 ft. 2 in.
Weight: 67 lbs.
Eyes: Yellow, no visible pupils or irises
Hair: None
Other distinguishing features: Green Skin

Stength level: Leech possesses the normal human strength of a boy his age, height and build who engages in moderate regular exercise

Known superhuman powers: Leech is a living "power dampener" who causes the cessation of power in other living beings with superhuman abilities, mutant or otherwise. The superhuman powers of such beings cease to function within a certain radius of Leech's whereabouts. Leech has made great strides in controlling this ability and may condense his dampener field within inches of his body with great concentration. The furthest Leech has been able to project this field was up to a radius of 30 feet. It is generally assumed, however, that Leech's control over his power will increase with age.

In Evolution Leech could negate all energy, not just mutant powers.

Well, if you want my fanon explanation, I'd come up with the notion that Mr. Sinister was behind it all.

Professor X Could easily have found him with cerebro aswell.
And then turned him over to the government for experimentation? What a meanie head. Now I'm glad he dies.

Would it have been so hard to smack some patches of green on him?

Its not like they gave her energy projection powers. It would have been better if they just made her speed peak human, instead of superhuman. I just dont think that it is such a drastic change that it is totally out of character.
