While on a forgettable first date together in Ohio, a black man (Get Out’s Daniel Kaluuya) and a black woman (Jodie Turner-Smith, in her first starring feature-film role), are pulled over for a minor traffic infraction. The situation escalates, with sudden and tragic results, when the man kills the police officer in self-defense. Terrified and in fear for their lives, the man, a retail employee, and the woman, a criminal defense lawyer, are forced to go on the run. But the incident is captured on video and goes viral, and the couple unwittingly become a symbol of trauma, terror, grief and pain for people across the country.

As they drive, these two unlikely fugitives will discover themselves and each other in the most dire and desperate of circumstances, and will forge a deep and powerful love that will reveal their shared humanity and shape the rest of their lives.

I'm totally intrigued. I'm not sure about the comparison to Bonnie and Clyde. Makes me not want to see them get lit up in the end.

The trailer looks good on this one. I'll definitely be seeing this in theaters.

Surprised there hasn't been much talk here about this film. I saw it the other day and it's amazing overall. There were a couple of things I was iffy on but it's still a fantastic film. Daniel Kaluuya and Jodie Turner-Smith knock it out of the park with their performances. Definitely feels like a really important film to be coming out right now.

9.5/10

I saw it too and I'm a bit torn on it. I don't think a two hour run time was necessary for this story, and the end was really strange. I'm not sure I get what they were going for
because it felt like they were glorifying dying by police violence and using an interlude of a sex scene and a child committing murder was.....a choice.

Finally saw this a few days ago.
It was pretty good.
There was a few ameteurish things about it, but for a first feature it was really good. The dialogue felt really stilted at times and Queen was kinda getting acted off the screen by Daniel Kaluuya.

I also feel that the movie was so...shallow. LIke it was kinda silly how almost every white person in the movie was like mustache twirlingly evil/racist and, 99% of the black people were mostly cool; even the cops. I just feel like they could've made it a bit more balanced and interesting.

However, I feel like the main problem was that this was waaaaaaaay too long. They could've taken out like 30 mins.

But I'll watch it again
