The Dark Knight Lesser known Characters Casting.....

Except it goes back even farther than that. In the pre-crisis continuity, the original Batgirl wasn't Babsy at all... and she was Robin's girlfriend. LOL. That was during the "bat-family" era. But when the TV show came around, the producers added Yvonne Craig (hubba hubba) as meek librarian Barbara Gordon, daughter of Commissioner James Gordon. In the comics they introduced her to keep things consistent, but even then I don't think she was Jim's daughter in the comics.

Ha ha ha Poor Lujho

He reminds me of J. Jonah Jameson(JK Simmons)on Spider-Man.

He wouldn't if you saw them side by side.

Dann Florek is Captain Donald Cragen on Law & Order SVU, and he was the same character on the original Law & Order for the first few years. When he left he was replaced by S. Epatha Merkerson as Lieutenant Anita Van Buren, and she's still there now.

Cragen is a loveable bastard... and I do mean bastard... the guy's prone to ball-busting, but he's got heart in there somewhere, underneath all that bastardness.

Well they're both bald, does that count?

And who likes my idea on the previous page?

I say we carry in the vein of Batman & Robin and make Barbara the niece of Alfred Pennyworth. That way there's no confusion.

LOL! Did you know Alfred actually had a neice in the comics? I think Bruce dated her...

He is by far one of my favorite Law and Order characters out there, I much prefer him to Lt. Van Buren.
It is my goal to suggest as many Law and Order actors for Batman roles as possible, for example Richard Belzar = Mr. Freeze, and Chris Melioni could be a great Harvey Dent, Chris Noth = Maroni, Angie Harmon = Dt. Montoya

Okay, I mangled it slightly. The original Batgirl was Betty Kane.

When the 60's TV show was a hit, they asked Julie Schwartz (editor of the Bat-books) to create a new Batgirl, so they created Jim Gordon's daughter, who had previously not existed.

I think when Frank Miller wrote Year One, he elected not to include Barbara. Notice that Jim's WIFE is named Barbara? How confusing is that?

If we're looking for lesser known character casting then the guy who plays Ronald McDonald would be a perfect Joker.

Chris Meloni is such a badass, isn't he? They've written a hell of a character for him on SVU. I would definitely like to see him get some other work. That guy has the intensity of nuclear reactor.

Richard Belzer... LOL... Richard Belzer is Richard Belzer. He exists on his own plane. That character he plays, Detective Munch? That basically IS Richard Belzer. He was sort of a weird-ass stand-up comic back in the 70's and 80's. He's a conspiracy theorist, he believes in UFO's, a government coverup surrounding the JFK assassination, and that Elvis is alive. I mean this guy is OUT THERE.

And he's awesome. ;)

That character he plays on SVU, did you know that character originated on "Homicide: Life in the Streets"? And Belzer also cameoed in an episode of The X-Files - again as Detective Munch!

Ever since Lenny left Law and Order, my favorite L&O has to be SVU - all the stories are great and the cast is flawless, hell they made Ice T into a cool guy.
My dream L&O cast would have to be:

Dectives:Lennie Bresco and Elliot Stabler
Captain: Donald Cragen
Attornies: Jack McCoy, Abbie Carmichael
D.A. Arthur Branch (the only good thing about the newer episodes)

I love Richard Belzer, I loved the character back on the Homicide days (man I miss that show - not as much as I miss NYPD Blue though :() - I did not know about X-Files though.. I think he just has that voice that would be perfect for Mr. Freeze and a look about him, however he is quite the character.

Yeah I love Detective Tutuola, he's the MAN.

And I agree that SVU is a great show.

Hehehe... yeah I love Arthur, too... and Abbie, she was just... aside from being teh HAWT, she was also one badass broad. I love how she used to actually scare Jack a little. ;)

Homicide was my Dad's favorite show. We used to look forward to that one every week. And it was actually filmed in Baltimore, that's so cool. Baltimore is such a poop-hole of a city, it was a great setting for a cop show.

Angie Harmon holds a special place in my heart - she is a great mix of beauty and brains.

Homicide was a show that I use to love to watch with my dad, having it in Balitmore was a nice change of pace since just about every other cop show takes place in NY. If I had to rank cop shows it would be in my top 3 probably:
1. NYPD Blue - I am a sucker for Dennis Franz
2. Middle Age Law and Order (the Noth/Orbach/Bratt days)
3. Homicde
4. Law and Order SVU
5. Classic Law and Order (Sorvino/Noth/Dzundza)
6. New Law and Order (Orbach/Martin/Farina)
7. CSI Miami
8. CSI

bwahaha! someone said Pierce Brosnan for Renee Montoya :D

Seriously? jLo

ok I was seriously kidding. I was thinking Eva Mendes could be cool in that role.

I love how everything turns into Law and Order or H2GT2G with you two.
