I too have relatives with different shades, but we don't come from a nation that has been isolationist practically since it's inception.

Wakanda, and thus Wakandans, share a different history compared to black people across the world, including continental Africans. Variantions in complexion among Wakandans does occur (something we still see in the comic books, to some degree) but one could imagine that it isn't as varied as other black folks due to that different history.

More to the point, my reply was to the suggestion that Gugu Mbatha-Raw should be casted as Shuri. Gugu Mbatha-Raw is biracial. Shuri is not. Thus, I disagreed.

That said, it's a moot point in the grand scheme of things, as both Ramonda and Shuri has been casted.

It's obvious they are setting her up for bigger things. I can't wait to see her and Peter Parker in the next 10 years of the MCU. It's cool that we have young characters that we'll see grow.

Shuri could very well be taking Riri's place as Ironheart if MCU wants it to. I am all for it.

Yeah, me too; personally I want to see Shuri develop into her own superhero instead of just taking the mantle of BP after her brother decided to retire. She is capable of bigger and better things by herself.
