Exclusive Media and Cross Creek Pictures have entered into a three year development and production deal with a minimum of two feature films per year. A Walk Among the Tombstones, starring Liam Neeson, will be the first film to be produced and financed under this new arrangement. Scott Frank (The Lookout) wrote and will direct the film with Double Feature Films partners Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher to produce with Danny DeVito and his company, Jersey Films.

Formerly a cop with the NYPD, now an unlicensed private eye and a recovering alcoholic haunted by past mistakes, Matt Scudder (NEESON) is hired to find the kidnapped wife of a drug dealer. He operates just outside the law where the police don’t go to track down the kidnappers, who he discovers have been involved in multiple kidnappings and brutal murders

More Neeson badassery on the way!

I wonder if he's going to bring a certain set of skills along with him

Sounds like... your typical cop movie.

Although Neeson makes it a bit better.

No way this is Mattt Scudder based on the books by Lawrence Block I read 8 Million ways to die really good book the last movie adaption had Jeff Bridges in the 80s.

I hope this does good there are a lot of Scudder books.

Neeson's turn to badass action star (in his 50s, no less) is so strange, yet so welcome and awesome to me.

There are reasons for it, and many think it's due to the tragic death of his wife. Not to make it all hyperbole, but I think Liam just wants to work things out with escapism. But I'm glad he's in this particular project.

He's been doing this since before his wife died, though.

But it has accelerated since then. He's been doing almost non-stop action one after another, till The Grey.

True, seeing his filmography you're right.

Downton Abbey Star Dan Stevens to Take A Walk Among the Tombstones

"Downton Abbey" star Dan Stevens is eyeing a role in the upcoming thriller A Walk Among the Tombstones, Variety reports. His specific role has not been disclosed, but he would join the headlining Liam Neeson.

Formerly a cop with the NYPD, now an unlicensed private eye and a recovering alcoholic haunted by past mistakes, Neeson stars as Matt Scudder, who is hired to find the kidnapped wife of a drug dealer. He operates just outside the law where the police don’t go to track down the kidnappers, who he discovers have been involved in multiple kidnappings and brutal murders.

This sounds fantastic.

In regards to Neeson doing more action films, I think it's more to do with his age than the death of wife. I recall an interview with him around the time Taken came out where he said something along the lines of wanting to do more action before he gets too old for it. Given how... aged some our action stars are these days I imagine we'll be getting another 20 years (give or take) out of Neeson yet!

A Walk Among the Tombstones

Liam Neeson is Matt Scudder, an ex-NYPD cop who now works as an unlicensed private investigator operating just outside the law. When Scudder reluctantly agrees to help a heroin trafficker hunt down the men who kidnapped and then brutally murdered his wife, the PI learns that this is not the first time these men have committed this sort of twisted crime…nor will it be the last. Blurring the lines between right and wrong, Scudder races to track the deviants through the backstreets of New York City before they kill again.

Release Date: September 19, 2014

Directed by: Scott Frank

Based on Lawrence Block's series of mystery novels.

This looks very interesting. Seems more dramatic/scary than Neeson's recent action fluff films of Non Stop and Taken 2

I'm surprised this isn't getting a February release like his other movies.

Looks very interesting. Will definitely check it out.

Here's the poster.

Interesting, might be one to watch out for at least.

It's Liam! Of course i'm intrigued :yay:

There were test screenings for this flick, and it went pretty well, so I've heard.

Any movie where Liam Neeson plays Liam "Asskicker" Neeson is bound to be well received.

He's in serious danger of being typecast as "Badass"

I think he already has. I'm not complaining but I do wish he gets more opportunities to stretch his acting legs.
