I don't think they'll make another. This movie just barely broke it budget domesticly.

it made double what it cost:huh:

a sequel is a must...

if the first bourne movie had two sequels.. this movie can.
cant wait for tomorrow!

^Normally if they dont surpass their budget domestically though, a sequel isnt made.

True. But this film has been wildly popular. I think a sequel, with a bigger budget, could surpass the original FX wise. You have much more room to tell a story now - with having explained David's history aswell as the Paladin's story.

still.. over seas it made more than here. Doesnt make it any less profitable.

i still dont understand the critics hate towards it, with crap like "worst movie since pluto nash"

id say its one of the most creative scifi action flicks in a while..

Gould's novel was spectacular.

I really loved the film. You just couldn't imagine how amazing the Jumping FX looked.

Are you serious?

That's awesome. I need my DVD now.

it seems to take play in a CIA headquarters type place... they tear the building down.

and also another fight that takes place around a helicopter.

And they've said this will definitely be for a sequel?

Or is it a Transformers-like deal, where they wish they could used the sequences and may use them in a future installment?

yeah im pretty sure its an idea they tossed out for a sequel...

even though i dont see how it would tie into this first movie lol

theres alot of talk about the sequels on the BTS feature, not enough though :(

still need to listen to the commentary..im sure theres alot liman will spill on sequels lol

Going to watch now.

I've yet to watch this movie yet, i loathe Fox's 90 minute rule on their blockbuster, and it seemingly effected this as well, is it worth a watch, or is it worth waiting for the inevitable extended edition (which will most likely be Liman's TRUE movie)?

Yes. That's what I think, anyway. I'll more than likely buy Liman's extended edition, but even as a ninety-minute blockbuster, Jumper really worked for me. The FX when they "Jump" is handled brilliantly. Especially seeing that on the big screen...

Doug Limans directors cut of mr and mrs smith turned out to actually be a bit bad compared to the original version, and during the commentary he said the directors cut was not really the version he preffered.

so i'd stick to just getting this one.

and i doubt there will be an extended edition anyways.

Did anyone get the Wal-Mart version with the Prequel Comic ? I did but I have not read it yet

This is the story on the back

A prequel to the new film Jumpscars pulls back the world we know to reveal a spectacular and ancient war being waged under our very noses

For centuries Jumpers have lived among us special individuals with the ability to teleport or jump nearly anywhere in the world. For almost as long the Paladins a secret & powerful order have protected us from these dangerous & unpredictable individuals, sacrificing everything to keep humanity safe

In this original graphic novel we see things from a Paladins perspective as a woman known only as Jessica is sent out on her first solo hunt. Alone on her own in Seattle Jessica must locate & eliminate the recently detected Jumper before her mentor Roman finds out shes broken the cardinal rule of undercover work. Jessica has fallen in love

But i doubt Liman wanted the movie to be 90 mins long, thats something Fox always does to their movies, and it looks like something they did here, so i think we will get an extended version, which will be closer to the running time Liman wanted.

I enjoyed the movie but I loved Griffins character the most and would rather have a solo film on him, than we could explore his character more. See how his parents got killed and see his first jump and such I feel it would be better. But hey as long as Griffin coms back in the sequal I'll see it if not, meh.

They actually have a solo novel released on him. It's a nice companion to the film, especially because some of his rage toward not wanting to team up with David is explained.

And I think we'll see Griffin back for a sequel. I hope, at least.
