Agents of atlas look very nice as usual

beyond...well what can I say ,the best mini I've read in a lond time. More please :)

wonderman looks absolutely ridiculous, it's like an alternate reality where everyone was fathered by desperate dan...biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig chins all round

I'm really liking what they're doing with Gravity.

And what's the deal with Wonder man? Is there like two of him now or somethin? One minitue he can't fly, the next he's got long hair and can.

AGENTS OF ATLAS #3 looks fun as usual. Always liked Kirk's art, which I discovered on BLOODHOUND (which if you never read, shame on you). Weird that Yellow Claw seems to have gathered some assessories from "The Dr. Octopus Collection", but whatever.

BEYOND! is a great series, it's simply a shame that Marvel solicted the cover to #4 back when #1 was still new, all but revealing their "Spider-Man is really the Space-Phantom" twist way too early. Of course, considering what happened in #1 you KNEW that some "out" was needed from that cliffhanger, but still, why does Marvel always jump the gun? I can't count how many more of their stories, big and small, would have been all the sweeter had they simply skimped on details and image spoilers and let the tales sell themselves. Anyway, BEYOND! #4 looks good as usual. Gravity's really coming into his own, which is nice to see in an in-continuity tale (MTU's "League of Losers" wasn't). But Firebird really needs to talk. Those panels where she just looks and says nothing just feel like a waste, and out of the whole cast in the book, she comes off as generic dead weight. Sure, she's pretty much done nothing since Busiek & Perez left AVENGERS, but is it really worth an appearence in a series if she is bland? Oh, well, that's really my only quibble with the series. The rest is golden and everyone should be readin' it.

The WONDER MAN series looks wiggy, but I wasn't touchin' it anyway.

I saw that cover, and i didn't know it was the Space Phantom. I thought Spidey had turned into a monster or something.

Pfft. To each their own then. Seemed obvious to me, especially considering the past of the Space Phantom (best known for taking on the Avengers in their second issue and convincing the Hulk to leave the team, FOREVER, basically).

What's also a shame about Firebird not doing much is that she was "a Latina heroine" long before Arana was hailed as such, only she never starred in her own series. I mean, McDuffie writes a good book and he gets the continuity and powers right, it's just kind of a shame that he's on "JLU mode" a little with her and seems to have slapped her in just to have another body there. It's past the halfway point of the series so it's about time she did something as a character, and not just a "fire chick". I mean, imagine if they replaced her with Firestar, who basically has the same abilities and even a simular costume design, and I could see Angelica's banter fitting in better. But Firebird's a lessor character (believe it or not) so this is pretty much her shot to shine, at least this year.

The most McDuffie's done with her is cement that she's quiet, compassionate, and Hispanic (with the same token Spanish words that apparently any Hispanic character will randomly say in dialogue, amigo). I guess that's something I just figure she could potentially do more and come into her own, like Gravity and the Hood are. But that's only a spec of dust on an otherwise thrilling and enjoyable work.

I am very unhappy with the artwork in the Wonderman preview, I was quite happy when I read the interview but as soon as i saw the pictures i knew straight away it would be....Well yeah. It's a shame, has a lot of potential

Yes he does actually, just realised that. I do not see why whoever drew it (really could not care, its that appalling) thinks that everyone must look like they are on steroids, any ideas who the woman is?

she's a new character called ladykiller. The idea is that wonderman started out as a villain but ended up getting given a second chance, he is gonna do the same for her.

Great, I really wonder nowadays that when Marvel creates a new character do they think they're going to be a sucess? Because decades ago the people in charge came up with awesome people. Captain America, Thor, Spiderman... too many to count, All of the new characters i can think of that are recent have flopped (with the exception of Sentry and Gravity, but if Bendis doesnt stop emo-izing Sentry he wont last much longer).

Ladykiller..I do not think she will achieve anything other than starring in the badly drawn Wonderman book, which i fear will also do badly.

what about young avengers and runaways, some of the team on new x-men, there are some great new characters but they never seem to give them enough of a push :(

Yeah they're good but I was thinking about individuals but the Young avengers and Runaways are some of the best stuff marvel have, yet they dont manage to draw the most sales. Which amazes me, probably because it doesnt have spider or X in the title, New X men are good aswell; I like them aswell.

Alot of the books that don't sell aswell are alot better than the ones that do, for example New avengers was mediocre yet sold huge amounts whereas say X factor (which is very good, yet low sales compared to New Avengers) doesnt get nearly as many.

So....you're telling us you really thought Spider-Man was actually dead?

I'm gonna nab the Beyond TPB when the time comes.

Wonderman....seems wrong, this book wil get canned at 6.

I wish they did this with each cover....one modern drawing of the character with a collage of old covers in the background, that would be cool.

What I am saying is that it would have been nice if Marvel didn't release a cover image of #4 until after #3 had shipped when the story naturally revealed how "Spider-Man" cheated death.

Much like I'm sure many would enjoy CW more if Marvel would just shut up about it and let the story sell itself. They bemoan how the internet "ruins surprise" but do everything in their power to help it along.

Wonder Man is getting his own solo book or is it just a mini-series?

I'm loving Agents of Atlas. I hope it sells well enough to generate an ongoing.

Or at least a continuance of existence with cameo's in books like New Avengers, X-Men, or Amazing Spider-Man.
