I don't know why this was posted, but was this Darren's dream cast or something??

What do you guys think of this cast? I think it sucks.

The script I read only had Falcone or some mobster as the villain I believe. Catwoman was in it too. But no Joker, Two-Face, or Riddler.

For the record. Though Aronofsky was sure that WB would never have let him shoot the script he wrote, he met with Christian Bale for the role of Batman and Aaron Eckhart for Gordon.

I like the cast apart from Mark Wahlberg as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Edward Norton as The Riddler and Jolie as Catwoman are my dream choices.

EDIT: I believe it sounds like a fan choice not director's

it really does sound just like fan speculation.

Mark Whalberg is a horrible choice for Batman IMO as for Joker, Riddler & Two-Face none of these appeared in the script and i think Catwoman was only set to appear in the final scene.

It is fan speculation. But Catwoman was the second biggest role of the movie.

Ray Liotta as Two Face would be a great choice at that time.
Not for today (Harvey Dent in Nolan's TDK) though.

SELINA notices BRUCE and gives him a playful wave. He closes
the curtains. Leaving us alone in

I know this is complete false because at this time Aronofsky and Miller were not finish with the script. But I remember these names floating around during his time on the project like...

Wes Bentley or Christian Bale-Bruce Wayne/Batman
Aaron Eckhart-James Gordon
Norman Reedus-The Joker
John Cusack-they didn't say what character he was going to play but i'm guessing Harvey Dent.
Gillian Anderson-Her role was supposedly really short, so i'm guessing maybe Martha Wayne but I don't know.

Does anyone remember these names floating around at that time? I know they were all fake rumors except for Christian Bale,Aaron Eckhart and Wes Bentley.

I do recall hearing of Gillian Anderson being approached.

Wait, how close was this thing from being made ?! ?! ?! ?!

Would Mark E Mark pulled off a decent BATMAN!??!!?!

Batman: Year One was far from close to being made and no I think Mark Wahlberg would be a terrible choice for Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Although I like Mark Wahlberg as an actor, I really can't picture him playing Batman/Bruce Wayne. I mean, I could see him playing a condescending "I'm smarter than you" Riddler before I could see him as The Dark Knight himself.

Other than that, not too shabby casting I think.

Wahlberg should play All Star Batman. It would just be identical to his role in The Departed.

Cast Vern Troyer as Robin.

Problem solved.

You forgot Liam Neeson as Ducard/Ra's Al Ghul.
