Are there any movies that you loved when you saw them in the theaters, but when you saw them on DVD you didn't like them as much?

Sin City. Though it probably has less to do with it being on DVD, and more to do with it really losing its novelty. I mean, yeah, it was a fun little experience, but after you've already seen it, who the **** cares?! I already have the books, thank you...

300, i went out of theater thinking of a masterpiece, second viewing on dvd left me bored and i realized there was no real good story besides the slow motion, cgi and fight visuals. There has no been a third chance for this movie to me so far.

quite the opossite with The Incredible Hulk, i love that movie the more times i see it, can´t explain why

Matrix Reloaded. In theaters, an excellent sequel. On dvd, meh.

300 is better experienced on a big screen. I have the dvd but never wached more than a scene or two from it.

I too would have to go with Sin City.

When I saw in theaters, I was entertained but I found it flat and forced on DVD. Like what the person above said, it kinda lost its novelty AND the storytelling doesn't feel fluid. I think it's because it's sucha literal adaptation, it's just the books in motion rather than a movie.

Again, I don't dislike it, but I think Sin City is the perfect example that you may need to change things when you're adapting a book.

transformers.

Its a film that you have to watch on the big screen...its just not the same watching it at home. It was really really fun when I saw it in theaters! It was so good especially the final action scene....at home, not so much :o

Also Juno. I loved that film in theaters I was laughing the whole time and was rooting for it at the oscars. When I saw it at home....holy smokes what a boring film. I think its one of those films you watch once and thats it! Why did ellen page even get nominated for an oscar?

Matrix Reloaded was pretty intense in the theaters but it got too repetitive on dvd.

I really enjoyed Beowulf in Imax 3D.
The DVD not so much.

Superman Returns

Bought it blu-ray and probably watched it once.

I'll have to say Episode 3. I made myself like it in theatres but when I watched it at home and realized the way the movie went. I was let down. Someone else should have directed those movies.

Smokin Aces
I loved this movie in theaters. I didn't hate it on dvd but i like it less everytime i watch it.

beowulf and My Bloody Valentine... simply because it meant for 3d and i will never wear red and blue glasses.

also IronMan and The Incredible Hulk

although i could watch TDK on dvd... it obviously doesnt compare to its imax version.
same with Grindhouse.. its theater version was perfection... but the whole seperate dvd thing home without an audience isnt as good.

Shoot 'Em Up was a blast in theatres. It sucked so bad on DVD. Never rewatch movies like that.

My God, it sucks.

I gotta agree with Revenge of the Sith. In the cinema that was immense, I could ignore the silly plot points and wooden acting from Anakin because it just looked so visually amazing. Oh, and I was on the magic mushrooms at the time too :D

And written them :cwink:
