Lucifer Lucifer to air Mondays at 9

Lucifer will premiere on Monday, January 25 after the X-Files. Its 9 PM timeslot means Gotham will be its lead in after the X-Files mini season, so Fox is keeping the DC shows together. Probably a good thing, the shows seem very compatible. Both loose comic book adaptations, both cop shows, both have dark dumor.

I don't think there's any question about that.

The question is, will it do well enough to get renewed?

Debuting after the midseason break means that Fox will be expecting less from it than a fall debut, and pairing it with X-Files and Gotham means they are expecting it to perform at least decently. I'd say anything around a 1.3 average would probably be good enough for a second season. That seems pretty doable.

Hmmm I know nothing about Lucifer, never read the books. But another comic book tv show, especially from the DC Universe, count me in.

This is a very loose adaptation anyway. Knowledge of the comics probably won't affect your enjoyment of the show either way.
