The show got cancelled because it sucked and the ratings sucked.
It was a bad sitcom with some decent stand-up comedians with lots of cursing. That was part of the problem with this show. It felt like they were only cursing because they could.
Really low production values, the content of the show didn't make them easy to ignore.
Red Dwarf for example. Early on in the show's run the production values were really low and cheap looking. However the show itself was so good and well done that you didn't really care, and the cheap look of the show added to it more than anything else.
Lucky Louie was the exact opposite. It was like a really bad Married With Children.
