Louie on FX!

Louis C. K. to Take Hiatus From FX Series ‘Louie’ until 2014

A quote from C.K.

I want season four to go somewhere new… I'm looking back to when I did the first season and the time I took to do the show and decide which directions to go in and I want that back again. I want a little breathing room… The last three seasons have been a surge of fun stories and it's been great to share all the stuff and I want the show to keep getting better. I want it to keep being something that comes from somewhere fun and important… I used to shoot, promote and edit all at the same time in June and I think I can do better work if I spread things out.

As much as I love this show if that's what he feels he has to do to keep things going than so be it. But I will miss seeing it

Huzzah! I just started watching this show on Netflix and I love it. Best comedy series I've seen on TV in years.

Louie to Return to FX on May 5

http://www.comingsoon.net/news/tvnews.php?id=115982

After a 19-month hiatus, FX comedy series "Louie" will make its season four debut on Monday, May 5 at 10:00 PM E/P. The channel will air two all new episodes of the Emmy Award-winning show back-to-back every Monday at 10:00 and 10:30 PM E/P for seven consecutive weeks through June 16, announced John Landgraf, CEO, FX Networks and FX Productions.

FX ordered 13 episodes for the series fourth season, but Creator, Executive Producer, Writer, Star, Director, and Editor Louis C.K. delivered a bonus 14th episode.

"Louis said he needed extra time between seasons three and four of his show because – even though Louie was the most critically acclaimed television comedy series in America – he needed to make it even better," said Landgraf. "Based on the first three episodes we've seen, remarkably, he accomplished his goal."

"Louie" is a comedy filtered through the observational humor of Louis C.K. Each episode puts a spotlight on Louis' hectic life as a successful stand-up comedian and newly single father raising his two daughters. The single-camera comedy is a mix of Louis C.K.'s stand-up comedy and scripted stories. Louis C.K., M. Blair Breard and Dave Becky are Executive Producers. The series is produced by FX Productions.

I watched the first series of this a little while ago, and enjoyed the entirety, but the last few episodes really hit a stride and had me pausing it to laugh but I just haven't had time to get through the other two yet. They seem to have been more critically acclaimed so hopefully I can do it soon and then watch S4 as it goes along.

You can just watch whenever you want. There's no chronological order or continuation from episode to episode. He has different wives and daughters in episode, along with adding or dropping his brother, etc.

I think his daughters remain the same, at least for the most part.

Yeah the daughters are always the same, but he has a rotating roster of siblings who never reappear, depictions of his mother also vary lol

Plus a niece. I think Pamela is the only recurring character/story, and she's in like 3-4 episodes, maybe.

Great two episodes, it's Louie back to form. Man it's great seeing this show come back and seeing Louie bomb at the mic was hilarious.
