The Mad Max game is dated for release on April 30, 2014.

Could this mean that the movie will be released around that time? WB has Transcendence on April 18 and Godzilla on May 16. Split the difference and you've got May 2. Is this the kind of movie WB would open the Summer with?

They opened their summer movie season this year with The Great Gatsby so I wouldn't rule it out. :yay:

The big problem with that date though is it'd be going directly up against The Amazing Spider-Man 2. WB could honestly fair better if they go with the Memorial weekend and take on X-Men which the last film underperformed and ranked last in all the X-Men movie BO takes...but then First Class never had Wolverine so that could change things.

I wouldn't put much stock in that date, because I think that's a placeholder date. Amazon usually does that, until there's an official release date, just to be able to take pre-orders. I think the PS4 has a December release date on Amazon even thought there hasn't been one set for it yet.

The official site for the game, http://www.madmaxgame.com/ just says 2014.

Here's WB's film schedule from March 2014 to December 2014. Their summer schedule looks pretty solid right now, 3 action and 2 comedies. They have some holes in Oct/Nov/Dec that they could launch the film or find a spot for it during the summer like April 25 or June 20.

Tammy is a comedy so I can see 'Max' being place near by.

Its pretty cool Mel Gibson gave Tom Hardy his blessing on the role. Mel had dinner with Tom and said Tom reminds him of one of his sons.

Mel will have a cameo ass a drifter as well.

Sidenote: They are re-doing the voice acting on that video game so that Max sounds Australian due to fan backlash.

Bah, that didn't even sound like the final voice anyway.

At E3, frequently they use temp voice tracks for demos such as that. I went to a demo where they used temp voices on Star Trek because they hadn't made deals with Quinto and Pine yet.

Naw, Mel having a cameo was an old rumour debunked a long time ago. He isn't in Fury Road.

As Biolumen mentioned though, it looks like WB might be ready to show off the movie at Comic Con in 2 weeks time. They're setting up an interactive space at Petco Park by recreating the "Wasteland".

Tomorrow we should find out if there will be a panel or not when Saturday's schedule goes up, though I did ask Elmayimbe from LatinoReview if he heard anything but he just RT my question which I suppose could be a positive answer?

So Mad Max Fury Road isn't slated for Comic Con this year, and there MUST BE something going on with it.

The teaser is being shown at Comic-Con 2018.

I have a feeling that Mad Max and Robocop will be the two movies we all see when the world ends and we're in Heaven. The pearly gates open and we get tickets to see a double-feature of both movies.

If that is the case, then they better be worth it.. :D :oldrazz:

did we have a similar situation with a movie in hollywood?

i agree that going for a realese date before the script is finished is wrong. but after the movie is finished filming? maybe they didnt get enough footage and they will have reshoots when the weather is OK at the same time?

Eh? Script was finished years ago co-written by Miller and Brendan McCarthy back when filming was set to begin in 2003. Obviously they tweaked the script in 2008-2009 which Nick Lathouris helped with since Mel wasn't involved.

The last thing heard was a rumour that some additional pick up shots might be needed and filmed in Australia later this year but after the budget issue during the main shoot and the fact they're scoring, or already finished scoring, the film I'm not sure if that'll happen. That rumour and the one mention from Village Roadshow saying Fury Road was a 2015 release but an email to them said that was an error.

Some sites have picked up on the Comic Con/Petco Park thing and think it's an interactive promotion for Fury Road but we won't know until 2 weeks from now.

To be honest, maybe I did overreact with the whole Comic-Con thing, since Transcedence, Jupiter Ascending, All You Need is Kill, and Interstellar won't be present either. Actually, WB's panel (unless they have surprises) is a bit bare this year.

All You Need is Kill is featured in the Comic Con issue of Entertainment Weekly and WB's signing schedule pretty much confirms something for that will be at SDCC:

Interesting enough the schedule also reveals a signing for "Mad Max" on Friday afternoon....could it be for the game though or Fury Road? My money would be on the game which on a related note will see the first public gameplay reveal on Monday:
