Man, Comics REALLY Hate Dane Cook

Dave Chappelle owes a lot to Eddie Murphy, who owes a lot of Richard Pryor, but you don't hear about them stealing jokes.

And they owe a lot to Paul Mooney who wrote or collaborated on a lot of their material for them. I've seen Paul Mooney live, his delivery is nowhere near as funny as Richard Pryor's but they have the same story-telling style. All these comics who lack delivery should try their hand at writing...or risk getting their funny material jacked by a more visually talented comedian.

You know what I find funny? Greg Giraldo toured with Dane Cook, but he didn't have anything negative to say about the guy until Cook got his own HBO special. Ha ha.

Just because you can write songs don't mean you can sing.

Just becasue you can sing, doesn't mean you can steal someone else's songs.

I used to really enjoy Dane until I noticed the similiarity between his "Struck by a Vehicle" bit and an old Louis CK joke. I curiously looked into it an BAM! I found that it was this whole big thing. I lost any respect I had for the man right then and there. It put his whole act into question in my mind.

It's a shame too, because he probably could've been a great comedian all on his own. But now I can't seem to listen to him without feeling resentment for him. So I totally understand why there's no much antimosity towards the man.

and farmerfran Dane hasn't risen to the top all of a sudden. last year on Kimmel Dane said it took him 16 years to get where he's at now.

So i wouldn't call that rising to the top over night.

Yeah no ****, he was in Simon Sez with Dennis Rodman, now tell me that isn't putting in your dues...?

I like Dane, not as much as some of my friends that quote him on a daily basis, but he is entertaining and funny. I can understand why comics would hate him if he steals from them and that hate would be fully warranted.

As for everyone else, they are resulting to the classic playa hating, don't hate the playa hate the game.

But he doesn't come anywhere near comic geniuses like Pryor, Red Foxx, Cosby, Murphy or Rock.

Hell, he doesn't come anywhere near up-and-comer Daniel Tosh. Now there's a stand-up comedian for the youngsters.
