Man fined for paying fee in pennies

Youtube it.
It will be the greatest video never watched.

Learn to use these, have some consideration. It isn't the job of someone to have to spend a few hours sorting out your pennies. Even if it is at the 7-11, you expect other customers to be made to wait because someone is an inconsiderate jerk?

It is a crappy thing to do yes, but you're wrong. It IS their job to sort out your pennies if they have to.

Being a jerk is not illegal. It just makes you a social pariah.

I think Bubonic is taking this far too personally. Saying that cashiers are required to count pennies is not the same as enjoying forcing them to count pennies.

People don't like being inconvenient. This is why the man decided to pay this way just to get revenge.

I am being a bit rigid, but I find that the fine was justifiable, yes pennies are legal tender but he intended to cause a scene, it is unreasonable, and it isn't like he couldn't of used a coinstar or gone to the bank and had his money converted to a more reasonable format.

A lot of stores don't even accept fifties or hundreds because of the risk it can put their cashiers in and cutting out the risk of counterfeits.

I don't agree with the fine, I don't think he did anything illegal or wrong really. But it was a dick move and revenge on whom? Some random person that had nothing to do with his bill?

Petty and childish. If the person that dicked him over was the one he was giving the pennies to or was the one that had to count him, then I am okay with this.

Just some random person doing their job, not cool.

Oh no, I may have to count pennies! If only there was some way to instantly sort them into 50cent stacks, thus making my job half as difficult!

Oh wait, they make these things...

He could have, yes, but no where in the law does it say we are required to count, roll, or exhchange our pennies for a more convenient currency. Sorry, but the employee has a customer who was filling a bit vindictive. The employee needs to put on their big boy or girl pants and get over it. I worked fast food. I've delt with every dick imaginable. I would gladly have counted 2500 pennies than put up with some of those *******s. This person needs to put things in perspective before they go off on some holy crusade against pennies. No matter how you spin it there are far worse jobs than counting pennies. This person should be glad they weren't born into a fuedal system. They would be doing far worse things than counting pennies and have no way out.

The guy isn't in the wrong. Your bill is 25 dollars and you put 25 dollars on the counter, they have to count it, same thing here.
Agreed 100%! Pennies are still a legal form of money so I hope he wins if he sues.

Wouldn't be "sues", it would be "appeal".

He's up on a criminal charge. Of course he could sue the medical centre as well, for anguish or some other equally trumped up civil suit, but I doubt he'd win that due to the cynical nature of his payment.
