I know that "My Superman Sequel!" threads seem to be the latest craze, but I didn't see any thread were I could put this in, so I decided to join the crowd.

I designed this after watching SR on DVD. It's a mix of what I think fans want to see and what Bryan Singer will do (we all know that Darkseid will never be in a Superman movie as long as Singer is attached).

Well, here it is...

SUPERMAN: MAN OF STEEL

It has been 2 years since the events of Superman Returns, and the Man of Steel has been welcomed back by the people of Metropolis with open arms. The crime rate has tremendously decreased, and citizens (including intrepid reporter, Lois Lane) begin to wonder how they ever lived their lives without him.

At the opening of STAR Labs' new observatory (largest on the eastern seaboard), members of Intergang--Metropolis' worst terrorist group-- attack and cause havoc, putting both Jimmy and Lois (who are covering the event) in danger. Superman arrives just in time to save the media members and stop the terrorists.

Superman's perfect world begins to shatter as mysterious activity on New Krypton (now situated in orbit between Earth and Mars) is detected. Brainiac is reborn through the crystals of the dark planetoid, realizing that there is still another Kryptonian. Using the remains of a destroyed space probe and the crystals around him, he creates himself a temporary vessel until he can inhabit a more fitting body.

Lex Luthor, temporarily living a legitimate lifestyle, is the first to detect Brainiac's presence through several scanners that he had installed on the former island when he planned to profit from it. He sees a potential partner in Brainiac and returns to his ruthless and criminal ways.

At the Daily Planet, not much has changed. Lois, the Planet's star reporter, is still engaged to Richard, yet recent strains on their relationship (i.e. Superman) have further postponed their wedding date. Jason has grown, though his secret still remains safe with his mother and Superman.

In Arizona, at an unidentified location in the desert, Brainiac descends from the skies. There, he meets Lex Luthor and his goons. Brainiac, though hesitant at first, agrees to join Luthor when Lex tells him that he knows of the Kryptonian that Brainiac is searching for.

The rest of the film continues as would be expected:

- Lois and Superman begin to rekindle their relationship, despite Lois' guilt about her promise to Richard.

- Superman learns that no matter how much he wants it, he will never be able to be Clark Kent, Superman, and a father.

- Lex, utilizing Brainiac's technology and knowledge of the universe, creates a virus that threatens to send Metropolis back into the dark ages.

- Brainiac reveals himself to have once been Krypton's supercomputer (ran day to day programs) and says to have known Jor-El.

- Much more action (including a battle midway through the film in which Superman must protect citizens on a bridge as he battles Brainiac)

Well? Like it? Don't?

yup...sounds good.

Has potential with some tweaks. Not to bad.

Therein lies the damage Singer has done with the intro of the kid. Your story sounds promising except for the fact that you have to deal with the kid/lois/richard/husband/father/boyfriend/third party issues.

I'd prefer if Superman didn't fight against terrorists. To me that just seems inappropriate.

How does the film end?

Richard and Lois should call it off on their own terms by the end of the film; like he gets a major job overseas meaning the whole family has to move, prolonging the marriage, and he doesnt want to put Lois through that.

His overseas job should be something heroic, like exposing the truth to the people about some overseas war (he may be the best and only man for the job given his background in international reporting). And obviously he doesnt want to relocate Jason and Lois there and put them in danger (think of the few American reporters who put their lives in jeopardy in Afganistan and Iraq).

Superman and Lois shouldnt rekindle their relationship until the 3rd film.

Also they need to reveal that both Lois and Richard knew Superman was the father prior to SR and the guise of Richard being the biological father was intended in order to protect Jason (like John Kent protected Kal-El). Jason would be in danger if the public was aware that he was Kryptonian.

how is Superman fighting terrorists inappropriate. he doesn't say anything about them being middle eastern or muslim, or do you have a problem with the idea of Superman fighting people who use violence and harm innocent people to get their way?
