March 19 'Supermoon' Might Trigger Natural Disasters

The moon still revolves around the Earth during the day.

I can see the moon. It's very bright, but it isn't particularly big. In fact I've seen it far bigger before.

It's only 19:46 here though.

I've lived next to a military base almost my entire life, in fact technically all of it...and I have never picked up on military time. Gonna take a guess that's 9pm in the UK?

ZOMG, it's raining! Damn you, supermoon!

Military time just keeps going after noon instead of starting from 1 again. So 00:00 is midnight, 12:00 is midday, then it goes 13, 14, 15... etc.

If you mean when it is down near the horizon that is an optical illusion caused by the atmosphere and doesn't count. The moon is actually no bigger when it is low in the sky than it is when it is highest in the sky. Fun fact of the day.

And? All I'm saying is that it's looked bigger to me before. Why it does is irrelevant.

I have never understood this line of reasoning where people don't care about the "why" behind something. Its no wonder humanity is in the state its in. Everyone is afraid to question things or to lazy to question. They are comfortable being mindless drones in a society that tells them how to think and act. The point of the moon being bigger tonight is that it will actually be bigger and closer to the earth than it has in 20 years. It's irrelevant whether you think it was bigger at another time, because technically you haven't seen it bigger unless you were alive 20 years ago. Like I said, that is an optical illusion. The moon is no bigger on the horizon than high in the sky. Your brain is tricked by the illusion.

I find it funny that people still think it's the moon that will be close to the earth. This is what is really going to happen.

:woot:

Good god, all I'm saying is that I expected it to look bigger and it didn't. And now you're accusing me of being the downfall of human civilisation?

Hey! No complaining during Supermoon!

And for Kirby's sake change that ****** avatar. It looks like Sam Kinison's corpse with semen on his lips.

:doom: :doom: :doom:

In his defense, most blame you for the downfall of human civilization.

Also, asking "why?" is a good thing, it helps you learn new things and shows true intelligence. However, sometimes that "why?" is incredibly irrelevant.

Yes, asking why is a good thing, but his explanation of why the moon looks bigger is irrelevant to what I said and incredibly pedantic.
