Aniston had nothing to do with it. Marley and Me's box office credit goes to the dog.

Seems like a good thing to me
Yeah, the movie felt more real. I was just a bit surprised by it.

I have to agree with that. I mean, the kids are all out of school right now. What else is the family going to go see? :p

Mom: Hey kids, do you want to go see a movie focusing on the supposed assasination of Adolf Hitler during WWII? It'll be really educational and you'll see what they had to deal with during that time.

*kids blankly stare*

Mom: OK, we'll go see the movie about the dog.

Kids: Yay!!

lol.

Well, they tried assassinating Hitler about a dozen times. I think the operation: Valkyrie was just one of the more elaborate and detailed accounts of one particular assassination attempt.

I saw this over the fodder that is The Spirit and Oscar Contendors The Reader, Button and Valkyrie. IT was damn good too, the most believable couple on screen in a long time!

Just tooky my girl to see this today and it was surprisingly great. Realistic and heart-warming, as a dog-lover, this is as real as a dog movie can get. By the end, I was nearly sobbing. The story gives you a true appreciation for your dog, the only being that will be there for you no matter what.

I didn't have a dry eye for the last 15 minutes. Pretty much started when John noticed Marley had trouble walking up the steps. Reminded me of my own dogs, whom I've had since I was 12 and they were tiny puppies.

Finally saw this. I don't know if I felt worse that I was crying over a fictional dog's life and death (granted, we all know why this movie brings tears) or if I felt bad that I was doing so despite the presence of Owen Wilson, who I think never once changed the tone of his voice during this movie. It's a surprisingly well written movie though, with pretty good character development, and appropriately explores some important adult concepts.
