Western Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio Eye Killers of the Flower Moon

This was Scorsese's best since The Departed IMO with great performances all around. I'd rank it only behind Oppenheimer this year. I wouldn't be upset to see this take Best Picture.

This was a great flick and it honestly felt more like a mini-series than a movie to me, but I wouldn't call that a bad thing because I thought the pacing was excellent for the most part and it was never boring.

Loved seeing Dicaprio in this playing a very different kind of role and all his facial expressions were on point. His scenes with Lily Gladstone and Robert Deniro were easily my favorite parts of the movie.

I also loved how much this felt like Scorsese going back to the tone and energy of his earlier stuff like Goodfellas not to mention Casino which has always been my favorite Scorsese film btw.

8/10

Marty knows art when he sees it.

Saw it yesterday and thought it was great. Not much else to add haha

Pacing was done really well. Scorsese might be the best director when it comes to pacing movies. They never feel too long even though so many of them are 2.5+ hours

I’m a big fan of Scoresesse. I love Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Casino, Departed and Wolf of Wall Street. I even like Gangs of New York and Aviator and rewatched them.
But I can’t relate to his newer movies like this and Irishman.
They’re overlong (so was Gangs of NY) and boring af.
There are only like 3 innovative scenes, that surprised me. The prolog when the story of the Osage was told (with oil-picture, which we’ve seen in every trailer). And the epilog with that radio show.
The storytelling wasn’t clever and created tension. You always knew, where the story is heading, because it was was revealed 45min into the movie, that the Hale’s are behind the murderers.
The theme, to show how native Americans were betrayed by the white establishmen, was great and needs to be shown more. But it was as boring as the Irishman.
I can’t remember a scene from the Irishman and I won’t remember a scene of Flower Moon in a few years
