Western Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio Eye Killers of the Flower Moon

Just read this book. If the film is just as good, this will be amazing. :)

Cameron more or less said the same thing last year promoting Avatar, but Marty comparing it to theater isn't really the same thing because theater has intermissions.

Honestly, they should bring those back for certain movies. You wanna make a 3.5-4 hour movie? Go nuts, just throw a 15 minute intermission in the middle. The only time I've experienced that while watching a movie in theaters was the roadshow version of The Hateful Eight and I appreciated a little break to use the restroom and refill my Cherry Pepsi. :o

The one and only time I had an intermission at the theater was when my mom took me to see Ghandi. Ghandi probably wasn't as long as what's being played now. I agree that they should have them in anything longer than 2 hours.

Marty offered him the bigger hat :o

But in all seriousness, it's wild how Todd From Breaking Bad is now forced to make tough calls between starring in masterpieces from two of the greatest directors of the Old Gen and New Gen.

I can totally picture Plemons in Nope but I'm glad that Yeun got the part to branch himself out further.

I definitely think it worked out for the best. Plemmons would have been great, but Yeun adds a lot of layers to the character, IMO, and looks younger than Plemmons even though he's 4 years older IRL.

Got my ticket for Thursday!!!

I heard more and more that Lily Gladstone stole the movie and that's exactly what I hoped to hear.

Directors should do promotional tours more often. Living for these Scorsese dishes.

This really is a masterpiece. It's very similar to something like Casino in terms of structure -- just more contemplative. Both Dicaprio and DeNiro are amazing in this. I wish there was even more Lily Gladstone in it too. There are scenes involving an owl that are beautifully poetic.

The ending was powerful too. I read the book when this film was announced, and this sticks to the material really closely.

It might depend on the theater. In 1984 I saw Amadeus in a huge beautifully restored vintage theater and it had an intermission. A few weeks later I saw it again at a multiplex theater and there was no intermission.

Best movie I've seen this year. Maybe the best movie I've ever seen in a theater. It's close. Nothing has been more heart wrenching for over two hours and then cathartic for one more. And no one paces a film like Scorsese.

Oh, and I saw my favorite director and musician in one scene. How in the hell did that happen? :funny:

Scorsese seems incredibly vivacious for his age. For purely selfish reasons I hope he's got a few more left in him.
He directs like he's in his 20s. It's uncanny.

It’s great but long and bleak and goes in a very predictable direction but takes a windy road to get there. If Oppenheimer was a 9/10 this gets an 8, so they both qualify for :up: . I can see not all of the audience loving the movie because of how terrible most of the characters behavior were. It’s a better movie and somewhat less ‘misery porn’ than Scorsese’s Silence was, anyway. That one was overindulgent in too many ways for me to have enjoyed.
