Season 4 was more than likely going to be the last. WB made the deals they needed with NBC to get a good number of episodes for syndication.

He's paid lipservice to interconnectivity before (telling people they can find more about Nick Fury's Hellicarrier in Age of Ultron by watching Agents of SHIELD) and there was certainly coordination in approving or denying the use of things intended for the movies (mostly in not letting the TV side of things use characters but allowing the Kree to appear there first). But I agree he's never had to actively reference anything on the TV side of things before.

The ideal would be for them to use the same actress for Lorelei. That would be an even bigger deal than the movies referencing something from the TV shows, but I do think any concerns over confusion would be overblown.

I imagine the Disney show if it happens will be limited (less than 10 episodes) so they can probably work around her schedule.

This doesn’t really excite me though. She’s fine but I never really walked out of a Thor movie wanting to see more of her. Too bad they blew up Asgard and killed everyone. I’d rather watch a series with her and the warriors three if they are going this route.

Well you do know most of Marvel Animation got canned, however I believe after the merger there will be a new Marvel Animation.

Under Ike they didn’t spend a lot of $$$, but I can see Disney or Marvel Studios taking over.

Personally, I think it's a travesty that Marvel Animation can still be so awful years after sharing the same roof with Disney & Pixar, two of the powerhouses in the animation industry. How on Earth can Marvel Animation still be miles behind Warner Bros. is beyond me. Heck, Sony Animation already made a movie (Spider-verse) that is better than anything Marvel has ever done for animation movie. Bob Iger should tried to talk some sense to the Marvel people about improving this area that has been a weak link since the beginning.

I think the vast majority of old Marvel cartoons are still owned by Marvel/Disney, they used to have 90s Spider-Man, X-Men, X-Men Evolution, Spider-Man Unlimited, Iron Man Armored Adventures all on Hulu (which I'm pretty sure Disney owns a majority of, or at least they do now). I think the only shows they don't own are the 2 Sony produced Spidey cartoons. I really hope the streaming service has a nice library of oldschool Marvel animation, that's the thing I need to subscribe personally lol.

IMO Blue Sky should be used to create animated movies and TV shows for Marvel, Lucas, and Avatar/other Disney properties. They are a very talented bunch who got stuck with some bad scripts and franchises. It would be a mistake to divest that company when they could be used very well on Disney's own properties.

It’s funny they haven’t announced a new cartoon or animated feature yet for their service. That’s a shame, there’s heaps of good potential

My hope is that they will want as much original content as possible for the app and that this includes animation. Animation on Netflix and Amazon Prime has provided variety for and induced interest from me as a consumer.

Disney+ is just a better streaming service than DCU because it not only offers Marvel, but also Disney, Star Wars, and who knows what else. The only drawback I can think of is that Disney+ won't offer anything above a PG-13, and so we won't see anything mature themed like Daredevil on Netflix, which is a shame. IMO Disney+ should give their subscribers an option to get adult orientated series and movies if they want, and it will truly be a streaming service that can rival Netflix.

The PG-13 thing doesn't bother me at all since there are plenty of options if one wants to see more adult fare. In fact, I'm a bit turned off to the DC service since it seems to lean heavily into harder R-rated material. I'd like to be able to share my superhero obsession with the kiddies, not have to shut the TV off whenever Batman & friends come on screen. But that's just me.

Disney does have films and shows in its catalog that don't fall into the family-friendly category, and I'm sure they'll fit them into Hulu or some other platform. ABC has plenty of shows that skew towards TV-MA, like Scandal, Grey's, etc. Disney also owns Freeform, which does play films and shows that have definitely adult material in them. It has been inching further into that recently, maybe hoping to make the 700 Club crew uncomfortable.
