Heh, don't get me wrong I don't exactly blame them for what Nitro did, tragic as it is Nitro could have blown his top no matter what and nothing they coulda done.
I do see your point tho that real world experience trumps simulated controled ones. I just personally can't see kids in costumes working as well as it does in DC. I've liked teams of kid hero's before like Gen-X, and kids have trained and fought with the X-Men before. It's just that with them they had more guidance, like with Kitty she had a team of 20 something year olds and Prof X there to back her up and tell her to get out if she paniced. With just one hero and one sidekick it's kind of hard to see the hero always watching the sidekicks back.
I guess it just doesn't work as well when I draw a mental picture of Spidey webslinging with a young kid in tow fighting bank robbers as it would for Batman and Robin. Not that there's any reason it shouldn't, just personal preference and can't picture it.
Oh, on the Cap and Falcon thing, don't forget Cap also trained Hawkeye in hand to hand too.
