I found a reference to a handbook (or series of books really) on Wikipedia and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about it/them.

Basically I was wondering how it/they were set up and if it/they are worth the price. I found one on Amazon for like $14, which really isn't a big deal if it's informative. I'm looking for a reference book so I don't always have to get online to check backstory or character information. Also, I wanted to know how the pictures were.

I use to love these back when they debuted in the 80s, however, most of them are dated and the history only goes to like the 80s.

I have all of these, and I like going back and reading some of the early history of the characters. They have been updating these the past few years though with new books coming out.
