Crossovers between manga and American comics are few and far in between. While Marvel Comics has dabbled in manga-inspired creations before (most notably, its series of Marvel Mangaverse comics), it looks like the publisher is planning to go even further down the rabbit hole. Marvel's C.B. Cebulski revealed on Twitter that a crossover is planned between Marvel Comics and Hajime Isayama's "Attack on Titan." Pitched as, "What if the titans from Hajime Isayama's 'Attack on Titan' attacked the Marvel Universe," Cebulski confirmed that the project is "not a joke" and that the crossover will drop in two weeks in Japan.

Not a joke, folks. Attack on Titan and the @Marvel universe are crossing over! In 2 weeks. In Japan. Want a teaser? pic.***********/9AF5fqWLfX

Set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity was nearly wiped out by giant creatures called Titans, "Attack on Titan" follows Eren Yeager, a young man who enlists in the military with his friends after a Titan devours his mother. The series, currently ongoing, details his adventures in the army as he discovers his ability to transform into a Titan.

"Are we the food or are we Avengers?!"

I give those things a week at the most to survive. Even Spider-Man could make short work of a whole horde of those guys. Even the 'Special' titans would have a tough time taking him down, never mind the Hulk, Thor or any of the other top tier guys.

Why are the titans cheerful? None of them smiled, from what I saw of the anime at least.
The female one (I'm assuming here, I think that one with the lighter hair is a female) looks a bit like Smurfette from the films.

That's probably supposed to be what was called the "Smiling Titan" due to how her mouth was, and was the one who ate Eren's mom.

Not sure Spider-Man would have such an easy job, he would most likely be caught by surprise by a Special Titan. Hulk, Iron Man and Thor on the other hand would most likely have a much easier time.

Many Titans smiled in the anime, i actualy remember some of those being the creepiest Titans.

I guess there aren't many crossovers between american and japanese comics because they're so different, i feel like heroes can cross over into almost anything, however, most action manga seem to be set on their oun fictional universes, a similar position to lord of the rings, Harry Potter or Song of Ice & Fire.

The whole mini-series should be a page of everyone else looking to Captain America, Captain America going, "Get me Thor," and then 21 pages of Thor beating the living s*** out of every single Titan with ease. I mean, he grew up killing giants. It's one of his greatest joys in life.

Not sure if you watched or read Attack on Titan, but if you don't cut the right spot in the neck of the titans, they recover quickly.

That'd just make it more fun for Thor. Frost giants die too easy. :oldrazz:

Thor: "They get better? :wow: YAAAAYYYY!!!"

Not sure Spider-Man would have such an easy job, he would most likely be caught by surprise by a Special Titan. Hulk, Iron Man and Thor on the other hand would most likely have a much easier time.

Between his strength, agility/speed and spidey sense I say he could take on pretty much any titan and kick ass. Even the special ones couldn't do much to him, probably, unless this is a what if? book as he always gets murdered violently in those.

Possibly the best scenario.
His trouble will be if a Titan happens to be worthy of holding Mjolnir.

Burn them down to crisp.
Can they recover from that?

I'm not so sure about that, the special ones could be realy dangerous, i think their brute force and agility would give Spidey a lot of problems, not to mention that he doesn't hold a sword to cut their necks. Now Thor or Iron Man would be a diferent story, they definitely have the resources to kill those things.

They would need to reach the neck, for special titans, that's where the humans controling them are.

The crossover teased earlier this week between Marvel Comics and the smash-hit manga "Attack on Titan" will appear in the next issue of the Japanese pop-culture magazine "Brutus," on sale Nov. 15.

According to Crunchyroll, the "What If?"-style comic will depict the Avengers fighting the 46-foot-tall Female Titan on the streets of New York City. "Attack on Titan" creator Hajime Isayama illustrated the magazine's cover, as well as a special Titan sticker.

Debuting in 2009, the post-apocalyptic fantasy is set in a world where remorseless, flesh-eating giants have all but wiped out humanity, whose remnants are forced to live within a country surrounded by three enormous walls. The story initially centers on Eren Yeager who, after watching his mother be devoured by a Titan, dedicates himself to destroying the creatures. However, it's later revealed that Eren possesses the ability to transform into a Titan himself.

"Attack on Titan" has sold more than 30 million copies to date in Japan, and inspired spinoff manga, light novels, video games and a hit anime; a live-action movie is also in development. On Wednesday, Universal Studios Japan announced it will erect a statue of the 49-foot Eren Titan battling the 46-foot Female Titan as part of its "Universal Cool Japan" attraction.

It's going to be a what if? style comic? Spideys gonna get eaten. Calling it now!

Did they kill him in the Avengers Desassembled and Civil War issues of What If..? ????

After a few videos saying "Having Spider-Man in the front is a genius, cause his powers make him perfect as a titan slayer", the guys who said that will be disappointed if Spider-Man is meant to be killed in the story.
Some of the comments on the videos are hilarious.

Looking through the list of what if issues, they killed him off at least a dozen times from what I remember.

AoT is more of a horror thing than a regular manga. Check out an episode or two of the anime. It's brutal as ****.

The eagerly anticipated crossover between Marvel's Avengers and the bestselling manga "Attack on Titan" doesn't feature only Earth's Mightiest Heroes but also the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Anime News Network reveals a first look at a printed page from the comic, appearing in Japan's "Brutus" magazine, which shows the Guardians soaring in to the tune of "Hooked on a Feelin'" to give the Avengers some relief in their fight against a Titan.

Plotted by "Attack on Titan" creator Hajime Isayama and illustrated by Gerardo Sandoval, the crossover titled "Attack on Avengers" is described as a "What If?"-style story in which Captain America, Iron Man & Co. battle the 46-foot Female Titan on the streets of New York City. However, as the page above and the original teaser demonstrate, she's not alone.

Although the story is published in English, Anime News Network reports it's accompanied by a Japanese translation guide. The issue of "Brutus," which goes on sale Saturday in Japan, also includes a discussion with C.B. Cebulski, Marvel's senior vice president of international business development, about the popularity of "Attack on Titan" in the United States.

Just read 8 pages of this.
Captain America tells them about the weakness in the neck.
And like manga, you read the right panel first.

During a live "Secret Wars" presentation, Marvel Comics announced that last year's "Attack on Titan" story featuring the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy, will finally see print outside of Japan as part of the publisher's 2015 Free Comic Book Day offering.

Discussing Marvel's plans for Free Comic Book Day, Senior Vice President of Publishing Tom Brevoort said this year's offering will include the Marvel/Attack on Titan crossover. Originally published in "Brutus" magazine, the crossover was announced in November 2014, days before its release, driving fans of both franchises into a small frenzy, wondering if and when it would become available beyond Japan.

Free Comic Book Day arrives Saturday, May 2.

FCBD, boy the wait will be long.
And I will miss winter, not looking forward to it.
It's a good idea to make it a free comic.
