I have not played a Spider-Man game in forever that I actually liked.
Ultimate Spider-Man had stupid inconstant difficulty. Bosses & challenges near the beginning of the game were very difficult while the ones near the finale were a breeze? It only took one day to beat the game, and there was no motivation to keep playing. The endless Venom run was boring and Spider-Man's after credits game had nothing to really do.
Web of Shadows was just mediocre all over. The good/evil aspect did nothing for me. No matter what ending you got, Venom dies. I felt nothing playing this.
Shattered Dimensions was mediocre. How on earth can a game with 4 different playstyles get stale so fast is beyond me. And those damn WEB-SHAPES...
Edge of Time took two steps forward and two steps backwards. Repetitive combat, bland everything, not enough villains on either side, the final bosses were dumb to me (especially Atrocity)...
I've yet to actually play AC (I own it), and I've already had more fun watching my roommates play it than I did playing any of the past Spider-Man games myself. I don't need to experience it, Arkham City wins.
