The Avengers Marvel's The Avengers Prelude: Fury's Big Week

No he was found 1 year after the events of IM2/TIH & Thor. His waking up moment would probably have not been too long after.

If the Widow says 2 years since Banners last Hulk-out, then Cap has been thawed for about a year before Avengers (unless it took Shield another year to figure out how to thaw him)

When or where did BW say that?? 2 years since Banners last Hulk-out

I believe that comes from the description of footage screened at one of the expos/cons (can't remember which one). It was reported that she mentions it having been 2 years since his last hulk out

Abomination is being held by the military (it's never stated if he reverted back to human for or not, or how exactly they are keeping him contained).

The Destroyer is a major plot point of the comic, as SHIELD recovered it after its defeat in New Mexico and began experimenting on it. After a year or so of research, SHIELD found out how to get it to fire its beam weapon. Coulson then ordered the scientists involved to miniaturize/replicate the Destroyer, presumably to begin manufacturing weapons that use its power.

That stuff about the Destroyer is laughable. I hope to never see that on screen. It's an enchanted piece of armor, how the hell do you replicate smaller versions or use it as a weapon?

What Coulson was after was for them to take the Visor weapon and reduce it down to a hand held gun form ("and put a trigger on it"), not to make a load of mini Destroyers.

Worth noting he referred to it as singular (ie: he never said he wanted a load of them made, he spoke directly of the one they had in The Destroyer).

It's one thing to have figured out how to trigger the blast (did they use Tony's element for that?), but to replicate Asgardian tech/enchantments for mass production is quite another.

Maybe it has something to do with the Tessaract but it does seem a little odd that they can even use the armor or disseminate any tech from it.

Yup. I think it was last years Comic Con. Pretty sure the transcript for the scene has Widow say to Banner it's been 2 years since he has had an 'incident'.

I get confused when it comes to the timeline, I'll just go with around 2 years.

I just skimmed the first two issues but I thought it said Fury was looking for Captain America. I hope they said he was looking for Cap's body because there's no way anyone would think he's still alive. To look for his body to experiment and see if they could replicate the super soldier serum. Anything else would be too dumb for words.

I reread it and he's definitely looking for a living Cap, not just his remains. It seems odd to think someone declared MIA almost 70 years ago would still be alive in the Arctic. For him to continue the search, he must know something about Cap's disappearance that would make him continue his search.

Random thought after rewatching Thor (and the after credits scene - which I'm assuming takes place before the last issue of Fury's Big Week).... Fury tells Selvig that his work has impressed a lot people smarter than he is. Since - thanks to FBW - we know that Coulson is the one that told Fury about the atmospheric disturbances and was spouting off all the technobable relating to it... could Fury actually be admiting that the Son of Coul is smarter than he is?? :cwink::woot: *lol*

Like I said, totally random thought that popped in my head that doesn't really have a bearing on anything important to the grand scheme of things... at least I don't think it does (though maybe if Coulson really is a Romulan Princess..... :oldrazz:)

Maybe Coulson is Reed Richards and they're building the Ultimate Nullifier :p

Really interesting tie in mini! Usually I'm not into these, but what was posted sounds cool. I'll have to pick up a tpb if they release one. :)
