Is it me, or do sunglasses randomly appear on that child's face when he starts spraying?
He's wearing regular glasses, and when he's looking down, the lenses catch the reflection of the candles/fire.

I was looking through my photbucket account and found this headache inducer again:

Which way is she spinning? Left to right, or right to left?
The answer is, it can be either one. The best way to "switch" it, is to watch the foot/reflection area.
This is still one of my favorite illusions.

Green men can't jump. Just ask Louis Leterrier.

I never understood this "illusion". Its always spinning clockwise no matter how many times I've seen it over the years. Never once has it appeared otherwise.

Then that's you. I got it to spin counter-clockwise in 5 seconds.

I just looked at the feet, let my eyes go a bit out of focus, and suddenly the whole figure was going the other way.

I actually have an easier time going from clockwise to counter, than getting it to go back.

yeah, I don't see it either. is there a sail boat I'm suppose to be seeing or something?

Right there with you. I think people who see it spinning the other way need to get a cat scan or something.

I can't make it work either.
I can make it flip flop all the time. The easiest way to do it, is to think about the perspective of the woman. When she is turning clockwise, her perspective makes it look like she's titled towards you, and if you see her counter clockwise, she looks like she's tilting away from you.

Hope that helps. :cwink:

You might want to rethink that. Because the girl isn't actually spinning. It's a 2-D image that's just shifting back and forth. But because we evolved in a 3-D world, our brains just try to 'make it fit' into our reality.

So the fact that you see here spinning at all means you're falling for the illusion in some part.

The best way to try and make her flip direction is to not focus on her at all. Look at the gray corner and focus on it so she's just in your peripheral vision. She 'should' start spinning the other way.

And once you figure out what you have to do with your eyes to make her flip, you can actually practice and make it happen almost at command. For me, I stare at her planted foot, ignoring the urge to follow her movement with my eye, then slowly look down towards the reflection of the planted foot. Suddenly, she's going the opposite way.

Haha, I just noticed the spinning girl illusion and it really tripped me out for a bit because I finally saw it change direction, or at least the foot she's spinning on.
