Allegedly, Marvel is getting the rights back since Sony is currently strapped for cash with a manufacturing division that isn't selling nearly as well as it could.

I'm not sure if it's true since it would make more sense for Sony to simply close down much of their electronics brands but if it's true I'm excited.

With regards to the X-Men and Fantastic Four, they both are their own teams and therefore aren't all that related to the Avengers so I don't mind them being at Fox but Spider-Man is an Avenger. He's been one since the early 90s and is still in the pages of Mighty Avengers today. He fits the MCU better than the other two properties and the past few Spider-Man films were nothing to write home bout even though TASM2 was a step in the right direction.

I am sorry about the Spider-Man joke this morning. I didn't mean to do that to the internet. People are very, very mad.

Show's over people, time to go home

Anybody who believed that based on Max Landis tweet---needs serious help.

Next week it will be "Amazing about the FF reboot being cancelled after two weeks of filming."

He's a real genius.

Regardless if this is true or not,

.....Max Landis.....

just...no...

If this is true then it means another reboot. That's two reboots since 2007

Glad this isn't happening. I like, not necessarily love, the current movies

The new films are decent, but the reaction this generated pretty much tells the tale of where this franchise is at the moment. Decent, average, mediocre or even good just isn't good enough anymore. Sony is slowly but surely eroding the fanbase one film at a time.

Guys, can we just accept that Sony will NEVER, EVER, EVER, give up the rights to Spiderman?

Why would they? It's a cash cow and possibly their most profitable enterprise right now.

Actually, what happened, was that Dan Loeb, President of some major Sony investor group, sent some email about selling off 15% share in the entertainment division. That is a far cry away from selling off Spiderman.

Ain't happening, get over it, and let's move on!

Chronicle was really well written, but Max Landis's YouTube vlogs and other social media content really annoy me and he kind of comes off as full of himself.

I'd look forward to any future scripts he'll put out there, but I dont think I can stand the guy.

If Marvel Studios got the rights back, I would love it simply because I am sick of Avi Arad touching the Spidey films but I would also want TASM to be only wrapped up with Andrew finishing his series. Avi is pure poison around people who do each film like how Spider-Man 3 sucked and trying to milk out TASM by doing the Sinister Six spinoff.

someone explain to me why is Avi Arad allowed on these projects again?

Because he started the Marvel TV & Movie trend. Without him we'd have nothing.

I don't care about Spidey going back to Marvel, I just want him to be a part of the mcu.
