Now that his legal problems are behind him, John McTiernan will be hoping that his name can now be attached to films instead of tabloid headlines.

For months, he’s been caught up in the Anthony Pellicano scandal, and recently pleaded guilty to having a producer wiretapped by the dodgy private eye. But thanks to his co-operating with investors, he’s a free man and able to kick back into making movies.

His next will be Deadly Exchange, based on a script by Ron Shusett and Ian Rabin, which follows a terrorist hunting down the FBI agent who killed his father.

With funding from Film Bridge International in place after making some deals at the Cannes Festival, McTiernan plans to start shooting in Louisiana this summer.

Mmmmmmm, interesting.

I still think he was one of the most consistant directors during the 80s and 90s, but recent efforts have been poor.

I hope he can return to form.
